And I wasn't "pretending" to step to down. Far from it. I was all set to hand the baton off to one of my highly capable attendings. Derek Shepherd, actually. But then I realized: I want a do-over. I want a second chance. To do it all over again. I want a chance to do it differently and learn from my mistakes. So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
