The battle was an offensive by the Galactic Alliance aimed at destroying the Mandalorians once and for all, it took place in 52 ABY, 4 days after, Boba Fett had attempted to end the persecution of the Jedi by assassinating the leader of the Anti-Mandalorian faction of the Alliance, the corrupt and Sith–influenced Chief-of-State, Brenn Mothma on Coruscant. The Mandalorian settlement of Kyrimorut was being used by Boba Fett, the Mand'alor in order to protect the children of the Mandalorian Protectors, who had all been killed two years prior at the Battle of Basilisk. The Alliance strike was designed to kill off the Mandalorian children, so that the Mandalorians would never return. Despite the huge outnumbering of Boba Fett by the Alliance–Jedi forces; using traps and his incredible skills as a soldier, he managed to destroy almost all of the Alliance forces, including over 3,000 Alliance troopers and around 260 Jedi, including the legendary Kyle Katarn, until he killed and was killed in a one-on-one duel with Grand Master Luke Skywalker, his last words were spoken to his former enemy Han Solo, in which he told Han of the Sith infiltration and corruption in the Alliance. Boba's defence and heroic sacrifice allowed the many of the young next generation of Mandalorians to escape so parts unknown. The information he gave to Han Solo also proved to be the end of the Sith corruption of the Alliance, as Solo and Antilles, who was distraught from what he had been ordered to do during the battle, informed the Senate, and many Alliance leaders of the conspiracy, and removed it through a quiet coup. As prophesied by Kreia many thousands of years before, the Mandalorians were finally destroyed, with the last Mandalorian, a broken man in Mandalorian armor, being killed in epic Battle with a Jedi.
