  • On September 3rd, 2009, it was announced at the Final Fantasy XIII premiere in Japan that Sugawara will perform Final Fantasy XIII's theme and insert song. Seeing as the song was composed by Masashi Hamauzu, Sugawara performed the song at the premiere with a live orchestral accompaniment, the world's first preview of the theme song. Her singles for Final Fantasy XIII include "Kimi ga Iru Kara," as well as "Eternal Love." "Kimi ga Iru Kara" was originally going to be included for the Western version of the game, but due to translating difficulties, "My Hands" by Leona Lewis was used instead. "Eternal Love" is replaced with "Serah's Theme." Sayuri Sugawara was not referenced at all in the Western version.
