He had heard stories of how anyone who could capture a banshee would be granted three wishes in exchange for their freedom. Ari caught Yua, the most powerful of the banshees, and would have her help his son. Alas, for all her power, Yua was not able to cure Maqi's illness. Her magic extended only to material wishes, and life and death were powers beyond her capacity. Devastated, Ari instead wished for the Scarlet Citadel, an enormous palace that would serve as their home, and sufficient wealth to satisfy any earthly desire his son could have. Lastly, he wished for the banshee's eternal servitude, and she could not refuse. With Yua's aid, Ari soon became Lord of Arkhanta, doing his best to improve the lot of the common man. Time and time again, Ari made pleas to the Oracle of Kandrakar. The Oracle, however, reasoned that such matters were not his concern, as they had little impact in the universe as a whole. Disgusted at this, Ari eventually made war on Kandrakar, hoping that the Oracle would reconsider the statement that his pain was of no consequence. This jeopardized the order of the entire world, and so the Guardians were assigned the task to stop Ari at any cost, as even the Oracle said that Ari's power, enhanced with his undying fury and rage, is capable of annihilating Kandrakar. And the end, the Guardians, with the gelp of Orube, free Yuba, but her, in revenge for the time that she passed as Ari's prisoner, kidnaps Maqi, and also undone all the wishes that Ari made her done with her magic. Ari, seeing the wrong of their points of view, pleads the girls to help him to rescue Maqi. They manage to find Yuba, but in the struggling, Maqi falls from a high height and is badly wounded. The W.I.T.C.H. saved the child by transferring to him the Gift of Xin Jing, a power healing gift that not only heals Maqi but also removes her affliction, turning him into a normal, happy child. Ari, now full of happiness because of his son recovery, becomes a better person and a good ruler for Arkhanta. Ari latter reappears again in the comic when the Guardians visited Arkhanta as ambassadors of Kandrakar. He and Maqi greets them in the reconstructed Scarlet Fortress (the original one was created with Yuba's magic and obviously disappeared when the banshee fled) and invited the girls to participate in the popular games of his world. In the end he and his son congratulated the W.I.T.C.H. despite their poorly and catastrophic performance in the games.

Also included is a single right-handed glove that, when worn, allows the user to physically interact with evidence, that can in moments stream instant information about the evidence the glove touches, such as discovering blood type, shoe-make and identifying scents in the air. ARI is able to do this, through small sensors located on the finger shafts, tips and the palm of the glove. It also seems that all gathered information is installed directly into ARI's internal memory which can be reviewed at any place or time. ARI has instant access to the ALEEPA database, The ARI gloves are incredibly sensitive, and are linked magically to the glasses, so that Norman is informed of the heart rate of people within a certain range, and can see their mental state. The gloves accurately measure temperature, and they allow him to interact with the Added Reality Interface's Additional Interface, allowing him to quickly sift through information and solve cases. The Boot does little but detect nearby obstacles in his path so that the glasses are informed of the various paths, and so can inform Norman of the best possible path for him to take in the case of a chase. The ARI's primary use is for to searching and discovering evidence during Norman's crime scene investigations. Other uses, outside of crime scenes, involve searching through case files, testing fingerprints and other evidence, and can even allow him to see a computer simulation of environments that he can examine his evidence in. The ARI, because of it's stimulating information directly into the Norman's brain, and because he uses it on a day to day basis, it is seriously affecting his brain. After using the ARI for extensive periods of time, he has horrific hallucinations, or 'Acid Attacks', wherein he believes to be in the virtual world of the ARI even without the glasses on. In these hallucinations, where even though he knows things are there in reality, he cannot interact with them. These hallucinations often are the climax of his psyche, such as having a conversation with himself during a time of identity crisis, or being verbally attacked by his dead father after first killing a man.

Eventually, Ari was spending more time hiding from the law than she was getting paid for doing what she loved. Agent after agent pursued her relentlessly. Eventually, Ari tired of the constant attempts on her life. She sought safe harbor anywhere she could, and found it in Firewall. The agents of the fringe group agreed to keep her out of most of her trouble under two conditions: she work for them, and she allow them to wipe her memories of some of the more incriminating data she had recovered during her illegal escapades. She accepted.

- Ari looks remarkably like Hina, even adopting her mother's pink hair, which is what lead Ari to believe that Hina really was her biological mother after Smoker confirmed it. Ari is a tall, curvy woman whose facial features and serious expressions resemble that of her mother. Ari's tattoos are her trademark features. Her face tattoo is her most famous: two orange stripes resembling the claw marks of a tiger. This tattoo covers the scars Ari had obtained in the many nights she spent in the jungle after running away from her foster parents due to her unhappiness and when she would sneak out to see Ace and Luffy when she was being cared for by Smoker. She also has an orange "X" tattooed on her right bicep as a sarcastic reiteration of her nickname "Machine Gun", representing the phrase "X marks the spot" meaning she never misses her mark. Before the time skip, Ari wore a simple white cropped tank top that exposed her belly as well as green army pants. She wore brown combat boots and a brown, leather belt with holsters for the two knives she used for fighting. She also wore her signature pink hair down and had short side bangs. After the time skip, Ari still wore her hair down but her bangs grew out so that now, the long strands of hair frame her face instead. She wears a black cropped tank top that exposes her belly and a green army vest. Ari wears black shorts, brown leather thigh high boots, and occasionally wears two rows of bullets on her left thigh. In recent episodes, Ari no longer uses her knives, instead opting for a mahogany barreled bazooka gun with gold accents, along with ear piercings that can also serve as ammo. As a child, Ari is shown to often wear dresses of the same style with varying colors such as red, orange and mint. She wore brown boots and had small bangs that resembled those of her pre-time skip design. Occasionally, when playing pirates with Ace and Luffy, she would ironically wear a Marine Admiral's coat with the the word "Justice" on the back, similar to Hina's. This is believed to be a gift from Hina or Smoker since they are both part of the Marines.
- The protagonist of Okage, Ari is a teenager who is quite overshadowed, to the point where everybody who does care recognizes it. Easily overlooked by many, he doesn't really seem to mind much at all. Often disciplined by the woman who runs Tenel's bakery for his quietness, he doesn't even seem to change.

- Ari was a Cardassian male in the 24th century who enlisted in the Cardassian Guard and served as a foot soldier and personal assistant for Legate Tekeny Ghemor in 2371. While in service, he idolized Ghemor and considered him to be a great man for risking everything his position had granted him for the Cardassian dissident movement. Ari proceeded to join the movement. Ghemor, fearing his daughter Iliana (really Kira Nerys) would be taken away by Obsidian Order agents, arranged for Ari to get Kira to safety.
