Beginning in August of 2558, Beyond the Pale Horizon focuses on increasing tensions between Earth and its colonies, the continued fragmentation of the former Covenant Empire, the Absolute Record, a long-concealed plot by the Forerunner Builders, and the conflict between Spartan-IV Fireteam Osiris and Spartan-II Blue Team. While the state of the galaxy deteriorates rapidly, with more and more conflicts emerging in the wake of the Human-Covenant War, a mysterious and elusive presence increasingly makes itself felt.
