PC athletics were formerly part of the South Atlantic Conference in NCAA Division II The PC mascot is the Blue Hose or a Scotsman clad in a kilt with blue stockings. PC currently has the largest bronze statue of a Scotsman in the world. He is named Cyrus. In 2006, PC announced that it will move to the Big South Conference of the NCAA's Division I
