Ga'al-Jeh has 2000 life points in the Fight Pits, but he doesn't try to defend himself in any way. Even though he survives the fight, with the player's help, he is immediately killed by TzHaar-Ket-Yit'tal, on the orders of TzHaar-Mej-Ak. In the fight pits Ga'al-Jeh is accompanied by Ga'al-Xox, who manages to survive and plays an important role in the rest of The Elder Kiln quest.
