| Synopsis | - After consuming the soul of her latest victim, Satana returns to her church only to find that someone has erected a binding spell that traps her inside of a pentagram. The person responsible for this act is Jennifer Silence. Jennifer approaches Satana and tells her that she will enter into a contract with her: she will free her from the pentagram if Satana agrees to go to Hell and retrieve the soul of her twin brother, Jason. Further, she is not allowed to harm Jennifer after she is freed. Satana reluctantly agrees, and signs the contract with her own blood.
She opens a fissure into Hell and begins the search for Jason Silence. She enters into the domain of the Scorpion Queen and engages her in battle. The Scorpion Queen is known for consuming stray souls, and it is here that Jason's spirit lies in torment. Satana defeats the Scorpion Queen and recovers Jason, bringing him back to Earth.
Upon delivery, Jennifer releases Satana from the pentagram. Satana uses her guile to find a loophole in the contract however, and kills Jason Silence. She agreed that she would only bring him back to life. She made no guarantee that he would remain as such however. She then captures Jennifer and strings her up as part of a decoration in her church.
- Some three-thousand years ago, N'Kantu was the warrior-chieftain of the Swarili tribe in Africa. During the reign of Pharaoh Aramemnisu , Egyptian warriors enslaved the Swarili and forced them to build temples to the Pharaoh. N'Kantu led a revolt against his new masters and personally slew Aram-Set inside of his own temple. As punishment for this insurrection, Aram-Set's wizard, Nephrus, used science and sorcery to transform N'Kantu into a living mummy. The temple collapsed upon them leaving N'Kantu buried beneath the Egyptian sands for millennia.
Now, the Living Mummy, having wandered the Earth for several years, returns to the land of his birth and uses the mystical Orb of Ra to resurrect Nephrus. He asks Nephrus to undo the treatment that has kept him alive, so that he may finally know peace. Nephrus is unable to comply, citing that he never developed a means for reversing the process. The Egyptian God of Death Anubis appears before them and makes a request of N'Kantu. He has the power to grant him a final death, but first he requires service. As a God, Anubis's strength relies on the power of souls, so N'Kantu must acquire fresh souls for him, even if such an act means committing murder. N'Kantu agrees, but vows that he will only take the lives of evil beings.
