Parallel to the desk is typically placed a large sofa, several meters away from the desk; perpendicular to the desk and the sofa are often placed chairs forming two lines. Different presidents typically install different carpets into the Office; Min Zife preferred white, while Nan Bacco installed dark green. There are three entrances into the Presidential Office; the leftmost of the doors (from the presidential desk's point of view) leads into the turbolift area. The middle door leads to the waiting room, where the Presidential Secretary operates, and the rightmost door leads to the president's private study. Not every president has used the Presidential Office; Presidents Amitra and Jaresh-Inyo both felt that it was too ostentatious and so made use of the much smaller Ra-ghoratreii Room, also on Floor Fifteen of the Palais.
