  • Research is, as its name implies, researching for more powerful and better technology. There are several to be made, some of which are quite useful while others are for other purposes. Everyone starts off with their individual aspect of unique engineering (such as crystal lenses, or Small Terran Hull for Terran, and Aspha Corvette for A. Miner). Every race has Mega Project, Strafez Engineering, and Cyril Alloy, as well as the F-Class Ship. Paid Accounts may have more.

  • Research allows you to develop new items and traps to adorn your lair with. Research can only be conducted by Science minions. Research is conducted in a laboratory. It's best for the Scientist, Biochemist and Quantum Physicist to do the research. Although a Technician can do research, he is slow at doing so.
  • Research can be conducted to unlock more items and weapons for purchase in the store (though some of these may drop or be rewarded during missions before they are actually unlocked). More advanced research is unlocked by leveling up and completing previous research. Research is unlocked at level 3 after finishing the second mission in Chapter 1. Research will cost silver, as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. Points. Each research topic also has a built-in waiting period, which can be shortened by paying with gold. The more advanced the topic, the longer the waiting period.
  • Under the research tab, players can choose between different types of rides, shops/stalls, special track elements or scenery, that they want to get developed for use in their park, and how much money they want to spend on researching these additional things.
  • Research is a technique an archeologist begins with in SLASH'EM. This technique cannot be used at all if you are stunned, confused or hallucinating. If the sum of your INT and WIS exceeds a d60, you are able to identify one item. This number increases to 2 at level 10, 3 at level 20 and 4 at level 30. If you succeed, or if everything in your pack is identified, the technique is reusable after 500-2000 turns. Otherwise, it is reusable after 500-1000 turns.
  • Research is feature in Egg, Inc. which allows you to spend Bocks to upgrade some quality relating to your hatchery, habitats, vehicles, or anything else on the farm. Most areas of research offer multiple levels, each one costing more than the previous. Obtaining all possible research can propel you past 20 octillion/sec.

  • Since the introduction of update 5.2, Mech Crusaders allows you to research for special research weapons. Research is done at the Research Center at the outskirts of Sector 3, and can be accessed via the sidebar. Weapons research is split up in 4 different categories, with their own types of weapons. Research takes time, but doesn't cost anything otherwise. You can research all types of weapons, researching a specific type will not bar you from researching another later. However, as you research more weaponry, researching more weaponry will take increasingly more time.

  • Most scientific information today is communicated through peer-review publication. This is useful for communicating highly integrated knowledge but it is slow and it leaves out most of the experimental data, thought and discussion that was integral to the execution of the research. Collaboration and publication tools such as blogs and wikis provide new means of distributing scientific information. See also open research. This article is a stub. You can help by [ expanding it].
  • Research was an XQ6 Platform located in the Parmel system, and under Imperial dominion during the Galactic Civil War. It was there that Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin conducted, among other types, TIE starfighter research. TIE Defender prototypes began their journey to the Emperor from Platform Research during the Arms Race prior to Admiral Zaarin's treason as part of the Zaarin insurrection against the Galactic Empire around 3 ABY. It was defended by the frigate Thunderer.

Conscience (with science) tells us to make certain all of our "ducks are in a row" if we are to suceed in the critical path that we are on. Yes. It is a single path. please vier off whenever you can. Four words that may help: * fork - yes * split - it can happen * join - hopefully for better * spawn - it's a new day Thanks for helping.

  • Research is a form of Plagiarism wherein ones copy from many as opposed to one. There is much about the universe which is unknown. This is commonly viewed as a good thing by most international businesses, who prefer the world to remain in ignorance as it makes it easier to manipulate. And as we all know, ignorance is bliss, so lets just keep it that way. Unfortunately, human babies are born with a desire to explore and understand their surroundings; a sense of curiosity which is satisfied only after complete stimulation of all the senses. Since this stimulation normally involves sex with an anatomically improbable partner, copious amounts of LSD and complete domination of the resources, population and intellectual property of the known universe, most humans die with their curiosity left in
  • It is important to do research when you are writing on a topic that you aren't familiar with. Often times, writers make the mistake of creating unbelievable characters because they haven't done adequate research, or haven't experienced similiar cenarios their character may have been portrayed in. J.D. Salinger wanted to create a realistic teenage male character for Catcher in the Rye so he actually invited teenage boys to hang out at his house--once he was finished with his books, he never invited them back. He simply wanted to use them for research and to observe their habits and antics.
  • Research is a new feature in Mass Effect 2 that allows the player to research upgrades for Shepard, the Normandy SR-2, the Squad, specific characters, weapon upgrades, and new Heavy Weapons. The research process uses up resources (iridium, palladium, platinum, and Element Zero), that are collected from Missions, Assignments, or from scanning planets. The research terminal is located in the Normandy's Tech Lab on the CIC Deck (Deck 2) and Mordin must be recruited before the player can gain access to the lab. Once an item is researched, it will be shown on the "Upgrade" terminal next to the Research terminal in the Tech Lab.
  • Research is the process of using materials to create interesting and unique weapons and items within the Clan Dojo. The Oracle Room must be built before any of the labs can be built and research can begin. Each lab room represents a separate area of research for different types of weapons and items. All projects will take 36-72 hours to research, as no project can be rushed for platinum. Once research is complete, Tenno will be able to purchase the Blueprints from the Respective Lab.
  • In OGame, the collective name for the group of technologies which are required for construction of buildings, ships and defenses is Research. Each technology has certain prerequisites - a certain level of Research Lab and, possibly, one or more other technologies. Thereafter the only requirement is the availability of resources. The time taken to research a new level of technology depends on the amount of metal and crystal that particular level costs. Research times are reduced by the level of the planet's Research Lab. See Technology for a list of requirements to research each technology.
  • Machine guns and tough-as-nails recruits may help you to build a strong army, but mentally preparing yourself before any fight could mean the difference between victory and defeat. But with many different Families all fighting for power, it's important to always be researching new and different types of tactics. Researches can provide helpful bonuses and unlock new and improved units for training,. Researching give you a certain amount of respect depending on what level the research is. Its goal is the advancement of the field of neurotherapy. Studies in key areas, such as ADHD, autism and brain injury will be focused upon. Once the studies are designed, grants will be written to solicit to private, individual and/or corporate foundations who are positioned to donate large sums of money. • Each village has its own set of researched discoveries. There are three types of research that can be done in each village, and there is a specific building where each type of research is done. Discoveries made in one village cannot be used in another village; they must be researched in each village where they are wanted. It is not necessary to research all possible units; nor is it necessary to research units in any particular order. There are no "prerequisite troop types", and no "technology tree".

Story
  • Elusil: The dangerous green wasps have built their hives somewhere near the village. We tend to coexist peacefully with the different forest creatures, but the powerful wasp venom makes them too much of a risk to keep nearby. One of the villagers nearly lost her life to their attacks. We wiped out their nearest hives, but they simply nested someplace else. The abandoned nests are in the Lam Prairie, south of the village. If you manage to get samples of them Elismon, the village's alchemist, may find a way to eliminate them for good. Elismon: I will analyze the hive composition and mix a compound that deals with the issue. Tell Elusil I will take it to him when it's ready. Elusil: Perfect. I'll be waiting for Elismon's work. When I have it I'll need your help once more.

"I was actually looking for Ratchet- have you seen him around?" Crackshot shrugs at that "Its okay. " he pauses "Ah, he's working two days over I'm told. And they call us Scientists busy bees." he chortles "Come have a seat if you want. So uh, how do you know Lifeline?" First Aid steps into the room and takes the offered seat. "Oh well. I can always find him another day to ask, and maybe I'll turn up something in the mean time. Anyway, I work for Lifeline - I'm an apprentice medic at her clinic in Cubicron." "Oh! Just an apprentice? "Crackshot seems to relax "What did you want to ask him? Just curious you know..." First Aid tilts his head at Crackshot's behavior. "Yes, I've worked for her since I came to Cubicron. Have you known her long? I don't think she's ever mentioned you, but she's pretty private about some things and I don't like to pry." He shrugs and dismisses it. "I was doing some research on alt modes and came up with some weird results that don't match up with what I've read about standard transformation cog technology. Lifeline's got a good database in the shop but nothing that specialized, so I was hoping Ratchet might be able to give me some pointers on where else to look." "For a few months yeah." a pause "oh, she hasn’t? " he frowned a little bit and then tilts his head "Hmm. Yeah that's out of my range. I could tell you all about the stars but that's it." he grins "What are you researching those for?" First Aid says, "Just for myself. Size-wise, a hover car is probably the most obvious choice, but I'd like to find something a little more useful. Lifeline's alt-mode is a flatbed truck, but she's a little bigger than I am."" Crackshot hmms a little bit, ponderously "The issue I've seen with her flatbed is people are exposed way too much. I've seen a few flatters who nearly lose what they were carrying, even with straps." he rubs his chin. First Aid nods. "True. But if I want to work as a medic, I should be able to move patients, at least the ones who aren't too big. Sometimes I wonder what my designers were thinking." "What do you mean? " asks Crackshot "A boxer may work best for you then for moving people. Can even get a claw-arm inside to help with load up." he suggests, tapping to bring up a picture. You say, "That's part of what I was hoping to research, actually. Apparently, my system isn't set up to transform that much mass- I get errors when I try to scan things." Crackshot blinks "Scan things? What things? And you can't set up that? " he frowns "IT sounds like a subspace error. But I'm not a Cog Technician either. I hear if Ratchet cant' help, try that new bloke, Wheeljack. HE can fix anything. If not, then maybe someone from Crystal City. They have great number of records." "A basic hover car, that one came back okay; so did a bike- that was actually the first one I did, just for practice, since it was a simpler scan. Lifeline's truck form was the one that started giving me mass errors. I haven't actually asked her yet, either - I just wanted to see if I could sort this out with a little research before bothering anyone." "Hmm. Strange! I've never heard of that. Yeah, go and look it up. Try Crystal City if you head out that way. It’s a long drive to the other Hemisphere but you could get lucky." suggests Crackshot thoughtfully. First Aid smiles. "Thanks. I was just hoping to grab any public data that the databases here had on it. I can try Crystal City next time I'm there picking up deliveries for Lifeline." "Go ahead. I don’t know how much Independents can glean off our records but there's a little." states Crackshot helpfully "I can even help out myself with my own research clearance. First Aid pulls a data pad out of subspace and plugs it into the terminal, leaning over to key a search query into the database. "I think if there is anything, it's probably in the public databases." Crackshot nods "Very likely. I should let you search then. I gotta finish reading theses records." he explains, scooting one chair over First Aid smiles "No problem, and thanks." Aid glances over the records that the query brought up, downloading anything that looks even vaguely related to his pad. "This is mostly the same stuff. And some of these are beyond the public clearance. Oh well, it's a good place to start." Crackshot nods "Sure. Let me know which ones and if I think it’s okay, I can get them for you." he promises, turning to his own work. First Aid downloads the list and forwards it to Crackshot. "I can start with these, though, and check the Crystal City archives as well. I shouldn't keep you from your work any longer." Crackshot waves a hand 'Oh, just send me a list. I'll get them for you when you come by next." he grins First Aid stands up and gathers up his pad. "Thanks."

  • Research represents the productivity and resources that a civilization spends working new technology. Research is represented by flasks on the Colony Management screen. It costs 1 bc to convert a flask into a technology point. Research is generated primarily by research labs (and their upgraded versions of planetary improvements). Research can be improved by upgrading economic (production) starbases, mining research resources, racial bonuses, random events, by surveying anomalies, and by gaining research treaties from other races (DA feature). Certain planetary improvements will give research bonuses (without directly generating research). Research spending beyond what you need to complete the current tech is credited towards the next tech in the tree. However, if it's a terminal tech in the tree, extra spending is wasted. For this reason, the best strategy is to micromanage your sliders to devote just the right amount of research to complete the tech. Players have been complaining about this for years. In the Dark Avatar expansion pack, research works as follows: * Research buildings and two types of colony buildings give base research. Bonus tiles just add their stated bonus to the base research of the building on that tile. * Technological Capital, the Omega Research Center and Research Coordination Center add their stated percent of research to base research. * The player pays the full amount of base research. * Colonization event that enhances research, production-enhancing modules on starbases, mining research resources, initial race abilities, two trade goods, (in DL) rings around planet and Planetary Improvements technology add their stated percentage of bonus research to base research. Player pays only half of that bonus. The payment is subtracted from the treasury and is not visible on planet mgmt. screen. * Research output on planets with Extreme environments is NOT penalized. * There are some known bugs/glitches regarding research in the DA: 1. * Planets with rings DO NOT give any research bonus 2. * The research pane shows only base research, not the actual one with bonuses 3. * Tech Capital, Omega Research Center and Research Coordination Center DO NOT add more production points when focus is set on production. Only 1/4 of labs' output is converted to production. 4. * A planet can still generate production points from focused labs' output, despite general empire's production is blocked by being more than 500 BC in debt.
  • Special research items may be found while scavenging in the Dead Zone. They may consist of notes or components.
Doing research is absolutely crucial if you're writing any of the following things: * Historical fiction * Biography * A character in a culture/nation different from yours * A character of a vastly different age/gender group than yours * Specific time periods
  • Research are topics of study that Robin performs at certain point of the game. The results of the research produces various effects - some minor, some greater.
Below are the descrptions of the research items. >> Some types of research can effect multiple features, but only one type of research can be improved at any one time. Be sure to always keep a research timer active at all times! << . __TOC__
Since this stimulation normally involves sex with an anatomically improbable partner, copious amounts of LSD and complete domination of the resources, population and intellectual property of the known universe, most humans die with their curiosity left intact. To balance the gap between ignorance and knowledge, businesses will occasionally pay scientists to carry out research. A Research Scientist spends much of his time searching for common links between the known universe and the goals of his sponsor. When a link is found, a theory is drafted which postulates that the sponsor's goals will be good for consumers as individuals, or for Mankind in general. An experiment is devised which will prove beyond reasonable doubt that the theory is true. This allows the business to obtain government grants, the endorsement of environmental organisations such as Greenpeace, and 10% of the GDP of the Northern Hemisphere as profit on purchase of their products. This would, of course, work a lot better if human beings were remotely interested in purchasing things which were good for them or the rest of the world. Some of the most successful companies to date are those which produce small tin boxes that move at incredibly high speeds while polluting the environment. This easily proven fact was itself used to prove a theory regarding the inherent suicidal tendencies of humanity in the 1980s, resulting in the purchase of seventy thousand half-litre bottles of vodka, nine hundred and sixty razor blades and a Sisters of Mercy album. No one has yet contrived a theory which could support the purchase of Research Scientists. From this fact it is easy to deduce that any government, business or academic institution funding research is itself part of a far greater experiment. Research can often cause problems in work situations. This is mainly when geezers called Gordon or Jeremy do far too much research. This subsequently results in other geezers called Howard having to pick up heavy amounts of Gordon's non research related work.
Research costs will vary, depending on the clan tier. Ghost, Shadow, Storm, Mountain, and Moon clans must contribute amounts scaled to their membership caps. Note that this is not always the case for some researches and may differ. Resources below are the lowest denomination, as seen in Ghost clans. For bigger clans, follow these multipliers: * Ghost: base requirement (not multiplied) * Shadow: 3 times * Storm: 10 times * Mountain: 30 times * Moon: 100 times
Note: If you have downloaded the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC pack, and finished the associated mission, then you have the opportunity to access an additional research terminal, pay to get information on a planet rich in one of the four resources, and maybe get a delivery of resources from various terminals aboard the Shadow Broker Base.

  • In OGame, the collective name for the group of technologies which are required for construction of buildings, ships and defenses is Research. Each technology has certain prerequisites - a certain level of Research Lab and, possibly, one or more other technologies. Thereafter the only requirement is the availability of resources. An important thing to note is that the resource cost to research each level of a given technology is twice that of the previous level excluding Astrophysics (which is 1.75 and result is rounded to the nearest multiple of 100) and Graviton Technology (for which every level is three times as expensive). The time taken to research a new level of technology depends on the amount of metal and crystal that particular level costs. Research times are reduced by the level of the planet's Research Lab. X = speed of your universe, generally it is 1 but for some like Electra it is a 4 times Note: That when an Intergalactic Research Network comes into play, the levels of all participating research labs are added up. Note 2: To use the formula on basic calculators e.g. Windows standard calculator solve the top & bottom equations then divide. E.g. Plasma Technology going to lvl5 in Electra, which is a x4 speed universe, with a lvl7 research facility: 32000+64000 = 96000 (Top equation done) 4000 x (1+7) = 32000 (Bottom equation done) the number 4000 should really be X * 1000 as it is variable depending on the speed of your universe 96000 / 32000 = 3 (Electra's time calculated by the OGame system says 3 hrs so in this respect it it correct) it will also only calculate into decimal (kind of obvious) so 9 hrs 36 mins will show as 9.6. It is possible to cancel an ongoing research. When canceled, the resources allocated to that research project are added back to that planet's resource pool. See Technology for a list of requirements to research each technology. For all technologies in the table on the right with a useful level other than "All", any upgrade of that technology past the highest useful level does not affect your game performance in any way. Upgrading past this useful level is only good for resource saving or improving your technology ranking.
  • Each village has its own set of researched discoveries. There are three types of research that can be done in each village, and there is a specific building where each type of research is done. Discoveries made in one village cannot be used in another village; they must be researched in each village where they are wanted. The first type of research is that of troop types, which is done in the Academy. After constructing the prerequisite buildings for anything other than the basic infantry units, the new unit must be researched before any can be made. This is a one-off resource cost, but rises to quite high level for more advanced units. It is not necessary to research all possible units; nor is it necessary to research units in any particular order. There are no "prerequisite troop types", and no "technology tree". The other two research types involve improving units' attack and defense statistics. Attack improvements are researched in the Blacksmith, while defense is researched in the Armoury. These improvements are made on a per-troop-type basis, and have a "level" from 1 to 20 for each unit. Thus, for example, a village may have researched level 3 Swordsman offensive improvement (weapons), level 4 Phalanx defensive improvement (armour), and level 2 Pathfinder defensive improvement (anti-scouting). Blacksmith and Armoury research applies to all units of that type which are supported by the village in question, regardless of whether a particular unit was built before or after the research. The improvement in attack or defense is 1.5% per level, cumulatively (i.e., a unit's statistics are given a multiplier of 1.015^R where R is the researched level), with the maximum improvement being 34.7% at level 20. The advantage of researching improvements, instead of spending the resources on additional troops, is the ability to increase the power of one's army without increasing its upkeep cost. This is extremely important in the late game, when upkeep cost becomes the true limiting factor on military power. However, it requires hundreds of troops before researched improvements "pay off" by providing more power than would have been obtained by spending the same resources on more troops. This means it's not a good idea to pursue this sort of research in the early game.
  • So (OMG) I've spend some time writing this so you better read it :D. I'll tell you about all the research and wath you should do first:
  • To research is to search over and if necessary, over again.
  • Stanford is a research university where tremendous amounts of time, money, and resources are spent on projects in many areas of study.
  • ISNR is planning a separate non-profit arm whose mission statement is: The ISNR Research Foundation promotes funding from private donors, foundations, corporations and public sources to support research in neurofeedback and neurotherapy. Its goal is the advancement of the field of neurotherapy. Studies in key areas, such as ADHD, autism and brain injury will be focused upon. Once the studies are designed, grants will be written to solicit to private, individual and/or corporate foundations who are positioned to donate large sums of money. We are developing our prolicy and procedures, chartering the legal entity and deciding on a Board of Directors. If you or anyone you know is interested in participating on the charter board for our Foundation, we urge you to contact either Cynthia Kerson or John Nash. We hope to fill the board positions with people who have experience in grant writing, solicitation of grant monies and who are interested in directing studies in the areas mentioned. This is a very exciting project for ISNR. We expect to be able to fund significant studies that will meet standards for clinical trials that are commonly accepted by the medical and neuroscience communities. Our efforts will help put neurotherapy into the mainstream. Cynthia Kerson Executive Director One project that is being worked on for the Research Foundation is a Practitioner Research Network.
