In 2007, the Crimson men finished fourth at the Eastern Championships, and three players (Jay Connolly, Chris Ludwick and Bret Voith) were selected to the All-Northern Division Team. The 2008 women's team placed four players (Vivian Liao, Devon MacLaughlin, Nicola Perlman and Lauren Snyder) on the All-Northern Division Team. Farrar has registered a longstanding record of success as a head coach, most notably as the head coach of the men's and women's programs at Brown. Farrar served as the Bears' women's coach on two occasions, from 1985-87 and 1993-97. He led the squad to Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division titles in 1995 and 1996. The Bears finished the 1995 season ranked No. 12 in the nation, while Farrar's 1996 squad ended the year ranked No. 11. He had a 66-30 record as the squad's varsity head coach. Farrar oversaw Brown's men's program from 1994-98 and amassed an 87-46 record. He helped the Bears to three national top-20 finishes in his five years and led the Bears to third-place finishes at the CWPA Eastern Championships in 1994, 1996, and 1997. He was named the EWPA women's Coach of the Year in 1994 and was the CWPA women's Coach of the Year in 1995 and 1996. Farrar spent the 2004 season as an assistant with Brown's women's program and was head coach of UMass Dartmouth's women's club program in 2003. He also spent seven years as an assistant with Brown's men's program. Farrar is a 1985 graduate of Brown and was a four-year member of the Bears' water polo program.
