| abstract | - The battle of Vergesso Asteroids was a key battle during the Pirate Wars. It was here, Tesh learned of a new threat and Chin’s secret alliance with Noolid, Garganat’s brother. He did not learn that it was Noolid, though, until later when he conducted a recon missing, infiltrating Chin’s Faction. During the battle, half of the Liberator’s fleet jumped out of hyperspace just a few klicks from Chin’s Faction. They quickly engaged and overwhelmed Chin’s small fleet, forcing them to take refuge among the Asteroids. But Chin made a last minute call to Noolid and asked fro reinforcements. He had earlier informed them that Tesh had killed Garganat, the favored one in the family due to his success. Noolid swarmed the exterior border to the Asteroids and pinned the Liberators. Tesh ordered the Liberators to take their chances in the Asteroid field and plowed straight through Chin’s fleet. They gathered in the Asteroid field and paved a passage. A couple of Chin’s vessels followed, but were quickly consumed by the heavy bombardment of asteroids. Once the Liberators reach the opposite end, they regrouped with the second half and waited for Chin to follow through. When Chin’s fleet entered open space on the opposite end, the Liberators opened fire and disabled approximately ten ships, but were quickly flanked to their right. The Liberators were once again pinned against the Asteroid field, but this time they managed to keep open one exit. Tesh ordered for the fleet to retreat so they could retain as many ships as possible for their next offense.
