When Tadrith and Silverblade disappeared in the rainforest on their way to Outpost Five, Filix was assigned to the same search party as Skandranon and Amberdrake. Filix made the same mistake as many of the overconfident young mages, in thinking that magic could solve all problems. After the Changed wyrsa ate his first stun spell, he compounded his error in thinking that shielding himself would protect him from the effect. Instead, it gave the wyrsa an avenue to drain him of all magic in moments, leaving him unconscious. He was ripped to pieces when the wyrsa attacked the search party's camp in force a few moments later.
