The NCIS Major Case Response Team led by Leroy Jethro Gibbs were successful in arresting him but kept his identity secret, ostensibly due to national security reasons but in reality to prevent Doyle from succeeding in his goal to become famous, the team knowing that it would in turn fuel Doyle's narcissism.
