  • Valis is a quest boss for the Jedi Knight who appears during the class quest Defector. This quest opens up after the Taris series of quests. Valis reveals that Kira Carsen was a "Child of the Emperor", which she confirms after defeating Valis. From conversation with the later boss Lord Praven, it is suggested that he is Praven's apprentice.
  • Valis does not appear within the main game of RuneScape, as he lived and died during the Third Age, which was several thousand years prior to the main events of the game. However, he does appear in the Haunted Woods mission of the Zamorak Campaign of the FunOrb game Armies of Gielinor. Players must lead a Zamorakian army of werewolves, skeletons, necromancers and barbarians against the Saradominist forces within the area, led by Valis and consisting of Saradomin rangers, owls, paladins, monks and barbarians, and in order to complete the campaign they must kill him, the reward being the Zamorak eanger. He does not move throughout the campaign, and only attacks when the Zamorakian troops are closeby. He is stationed on a tower unit, right next to his portal.
  • The land ruled by King Fahn (one of the legendary heroes) and grounds of the Holy Order of the Knights and is where Parn is going.
  • Valis was a Human male Child of the Emperor, an agent of the Sith Emperor's will. Born during the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, and raised at the Sith Academy on the planet Korriban, Valis was a loyal servant of the Emperor. During the tense Cold War, he was ordered to retrieve the former Child Kira Carsen when the Emperor became aware of her continued existence. Posing as the Imperial Admiral Hacklin, Valis lured Carsen, now a Jedi Padawan, and her Master to a mining facility in the Unknown Regions, but his attempt to capture Carsen resulted in a duel that ended with his death.
  • VALIS is a story of a man, named Philip (same as the author), and his journey to find God with his alter-ego, Horselover Fat. Most of the story is a narrative that disguises a set of theological ideals established by Dick. The major subject of this narrative is spirituality, as both the protagonist, his alter-ego, and the author (who are all essentially one and the same) are ostensibly obsessed with several religions and philosophies, including Christianity, Taoism, Gnosticism, and even Jungian psychoanalysis. They are searching for a cure for what he believes is simultaneously both a personal and a cosmic wound.
  • As leader of the Kelownan people, he approved the development and testing of the Kelownan Naquadria bomb, a weapon of mass destruction, which was eventually used by the Kelownan military in a preemptive strike against Kelowna's rival nations, which the government believed were planning to attack.
  • Valis was an elven commander who fought in the God Wars, during what is now referred to as the Fall of Hallowvale, in which the forces of Lord Drakan invaded Hallowvale. It is recorded that Valis fought on the side of Saradomin, leading his troupe of archers and monks against Zamorakian forces, digging his heels in at a stronghold in the Haunted Woods. It is here when he ultimately was defeated, when Zamorak's werewolves and undead troops found and attacked his forces.

• As leader of the Kelownan people, he approved the development and testing of the Kelownan Naquadria bomb, a weapon of mass destruction, which was eventually used by the Kelownan military in a preemptive strike against Kelowna's rival nations, which the government believed were planning to attack. When the Kelownans learned of the military alliance between the Tirania Confederacy and the Andari Federation, Valis sent Dr. Kieran, Ambassador Dreylock and Commander Hale to Earth in the hopes of obtaining the Tau'ri's more advanced military technology to aid in their conflict with Kelowna's two rival nations. When SG-1 was sent to Langara, Valis welcomed Jonas Quinn home, although Quinn was considered a traitor after he defected to Earth and took Naquadria samples with him. However, Valis merely needed Quinn to help his people secure Earth's technology, and offered to allow Jonas to return home permanently, where he would be reinstated to his position and have his betrayal forgiven. He also asked Quinn to keep an eye on his former mentor, Dr. Kieran, who had developed schizophrenia due to his exposure to Naquadria. (SG1: "Shadow Play")
