In the year 2570, after thousands of successful colonizations but surprisingly absolutely no technological advancements, a bug meteor was launched to colonize the planet Earth. This sparked a conflict between the Arachnids and the combined forces of almost all known sentient species of the Milky Way that lasted more than twice as long and more devastating as the previously disastrous Human-Covenant War. In the last years of the war, enormous fleets of tens of thousands of ships boasting various technology commanded by Humans, Sangheili, and the Jiralhanae arrived at all the worlds that were known to contain Arachnids using a captured Brain Bug to locate them, and glassed them to oblivion. Twelve years after the apparent defeat and annihilation of the Arachnid Empire, several worlds were recolonized by the Arachnid Empire even with the new XenoDef department in the UNSC and the SAF reinforcing their space. These new colonists appear to have been part of a colonization attempt that had thought to be disastrous as their meteor was almost obliterated by a star. It however reached its target unknown to the Arachnid Empire and created a new society. It met the same fate as the original Empire, and was destroyed by another supercombined fleet, therefore, extincting the species to human knowledge.
