The United States gubernatorial elections of 2018 was held on November 6, 2018, in 36 states. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all but three of the states took place in 2014. Three Democratic governors were term-limited, while five incumbent Democratic governors are eligible for re-election. Among Republican governors, fourteen were term-limited, while ten can seek re-election. One independent governor, Bill Walker of Alaska, was eligible for re-election. Neither New Hampshire nor Vermont have term limits, and the Oregon governor elected in the 2016 special election was eligible for re-election in 2018.
