Reaction Reaction
rdfs:comment
Reaction value is composed of two components: base reaction and static reaction. Base reaction is preserved between dialogues while static reaction isn't. Reaction is "basically an extended MVC framework built upon Catalyst". Reaction, or NPC Reaction, refers to how an NPC reacts to interaction with a player-controlled character. The base number is 10, then the game adds or subtracts bonuses or penalties based on the party's reputation ranging from -7 (reputation 1) to +4 (reputation 20), as well as the character's charisma ranging from -10 (charisma 1) to +14 (charisma 25). Low reactions mean a quest may not be offered or a NPC turns hostile while high values might lead to a better quest reward. There are six "tiers" of reaction possible to get: This test is made to determine whether a character acts fast enough when something rapid happens - such as a trap going off. A successful test indicates that the character has dodged, ducked, stepped back, or otherwise managed to avoid the sudden danger. Test against the character's I, making any suitable modifier for careless or gung-ho behaviour (e.g. -10% if moving at a standard rate, -20% if running, -10% if the character is showing off, etc.). A reaction is a response caused by another event * Nuclear reaction * Chemical reaction * Reflex reaction * Reaction (Physics) Reaction refers to whether an NPC is hostile, friendly or neutral. NPC reactions may vary depending on your race. In other words, an NPC can be friendly to Asmodians while being hostile to Elyos, or can be hostile or friendly to both. Neutral NPCs are not aggressive but will attack when provoked. Clicking on an NPC will show their health bar. Emblems for neutral NPCs have a brown background while hostile NPCs have a red background. Friendly NPCs have a variety of logos depending on their role within the game. "Reaction" is a music track that appeared in Dead or Alive 3 as the ending theme for Leifang.

Reaction value is composed of two components: base reaction and static reaction. Base reaction is preserved between dialogues while static reaction isn't. There are six "tiers" of reaction possible to get: * 20 FRIENDLY_UPPER * 15 FRIENDLY_LOWER * 14 NEUTRAL_UPPER * 8 NEUTRAL_LOWER * 7 HOSTILE_UPPER * 2 HOSTILE_LOWER There are also many situations in the game that are affected solely by reputation or charisma alone, rather than by reaction. Alignment does not have a direct influence on reaction value, although Gorion's Ward alignment at the start of the game influences the starting reputation value, making it easier or harder to reach higher (or lower) reaction values. Various sources, including manuals, also mention luck, that the computer generates a random number between 8 and 12, but this feature was never implemented, instead the base reaction value is always set at 10. Reaction refers to whether an NPC is hostile, friendly or neutral. NPC reactions may vary depending on your race. In other words, an NPC can be friendly to Asmodians while being hostile to Elyos, or can be hostile or friendly to both. Neutral NPCs are not aggressive but will attack when provoked.
