Jelly Belly was a company that made jelly beans on Earth. In 1986, United States President Ronald Reagan gave Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev with a jar full of Jelly Belly jelly beans while they were meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland. Unfortunately these beans had been poisoned as part of a Soviet plot to kill Gorbachev, but Roberta Lincoln was able to figure this out and dropped the jelly beans after creating a distraction, saving Gorbachev's life.
