Rathalay was a planet in the Mid Rim known for its vast private beaches. The planet exported Rathalayan firestones. Grand Admiral Grant, as part of his agreement to defect to the New Republic, was allowed to retire to a villa on this world, although Jan Ors kept an eye on him. The planet was also the base of Kaerobani and the Lumini Pirates: in Kaerobani's den, Mara Jade retrieved a stolen Jedi Holocron and escaped. Many tourists visited the wealthy world. The Solo family took a brief vacation there during the Black Fleet Crisis to try and escape Leia Organa Solo's political responsibilities. Rathalay was a planet located in the Taldot sector of the Mid Rim region, renowned for its large amount of private beaches. Rathalay's government was separated into various corporate groups on the many small landmasses located on the planet. These corporate groups owned and maintained several resorts and beaches for tourists, though a majority of the beaches on Rathalay were privately owned by extremely wealthy families. The most notable of these families was the Corr family, the offspring of whom, Elix Corr, would go on to become a powerful and respected Jedi Master. They owned twenty different islands, giving them the distinction of owning the most land on Rathalay. Rathalay's terrain was mainly oceanic, though it boasted innumerable islands, as well as three quite large islands as well. On the islands were some relatively large cities, including the honorary capital of Rathalay, Illafian Point, and the planet's main harbor city, Midosea. Rathalay boasted beautiful coastlines and numerous seaside coves. At one point, the Zhymmia had a large following on the islands owned by the Corr family, which were run as resorts and other tourist attractions. The family's associates were all contemporaries of the Corr family in the religion.
