Olympus exists in a vast extradimensional pocket, and does not always follow Earth’s physical laws. It can be accessed through any number of portals, but several have particular significance. At Olympus’ south end, the Gates of Hell transport one to the Pathway of Infinity, which leads to Pluto’s realm of Hades. The underworld itself can also be reached through the Pit of Hades in Olympus proper, generally kept sealed on the Olympus end, though transport from Olympus to Hades through the Pit consists of a fall lasting several days. East from Olympus is the gate to Greece – this can be completed as a one day climb/descent of Olympus’ base, or a six day plummet from Olympus’ edge. Like all other cities, the inhabitants had to evacuate into the dreamscape when Raxachk released his deadly plague. When centuries later humans arrived on Mars, they decided to make Olympus their base. However, they became paranoid after martians from Elysium took over several people with the Dream Machine, locking up the city.
Olympus Medical has been used as a trademark since the time of Takachiho Seisakusho, the predecessor of Olympus Corporation. In Japanese mythology, it is said that eight million gods and goddesses live in Takamagahara, the peak of Mt.Takachiho. The name "Olympus" was selected as the trademark because Mt.Olympus, like Mt.Takachiho, was the home of gods and goddesses. This trademark is also imbued with the aspiration of Olympus to illuminate the world with its optical devices, just like Takamagahara brought light to the world.

Olympus was one of many planets owned by the Goa'uld System Lord Zeus and, despite its lack of natural resources, it was also his favourite. Though the planet did not have many native people—and thus not many people to worship him—Zeus liked the planet because of its idyllic weather conditions and the fertility of the land in the valleys surrounding the mountains which was plentiful. When Cronus took control of Zeus's holdings, he saw no use for Olympus as it held no naquadah and the population was too small for him to gather warriors from, so he dismissed the planet with but a wave of his hand and left it to its own fate.

Olympus is an island located in the South Atlantic between the Azores and Canary archipelagos. Featured in every manga and anime installment of the Appleseed franchise, it is neighboured elsewhere in the world by a few other organized countries like Imperial Americana (former USA), Poseidon (an expanded, non-contiguous Japan), and the Republic of Munma (a large Middle-Eastern theocracy). All of these other societies are not completely democratic in nature, unlike Olympus, which features an elected parliament.

Though it is uncertain why Lucius would have need of a personal guard, it is understood that Olympus is a master assassin and expert in the art of war. After the revelation and defection of the Former Admiral Kokken and the formation of the Black Dog Army, Olympus became a widely known threat with his name popping up all over the world as the nightmare before the dawn. Responsible for the murder of numerous marines of rank Vice Admiral and lower, it is easily understood why such a monster was never known until now. Used as the center of intimidation and fear among the Black Dog Army, Olympus acts out any order that Lucius gives out, Following him loyally and devotedly, executing any and all who disobey Lucius' orders or decline him of what he wants. Olympus is the man/machine that Lucius will use to hunt out and eliminate all threats and forces that refuse to serve under the Black Dog Army. Olympus is known discreetly as the first ever Cyborg, forged himself over 100 years ago. Which would also make him the oldest living Majin in the world, and one of the only people aware of the Majins original name. Through the years his work he has adapted his styles and skills and become a master of war, as well as knowledgable of disasters. Olympus has bided his time along the timeline upgrading himself with the help of master scientists, only to have them die "accidentally" one after the other. Unfortunately though, with Vegapunk so heavily protected by the Marines and Arthur Primal long gone, Bane Shotman was his next choice in recieving an upgrade, and so he approached Bane, requesting help and offering pay using the usual series of words that assisted him in luring in other scientists. After getting the modifications he required, he attempted to kill Bane but underestimated his resourcefulness. But after fighting with Bane and causing a shocking aftermath disforming Bane's body, he was stopped before killing the wounded gunsmith by Primo Afro another member of the Skyline Pirates, though Olympus was able to escape before being killed. As such he now follows Lucius loyally through everything and anything, believing that one day soon he will be able to exact his revenge on Primo Afro and annihilate the rest of the pirate crew, reclaiming his ghost status to pirates. He currently holds a bounty of File:Bsymbol.gif475,000,000 and is the consumer of the rear Devil fruit the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Asura.

In recent years, Olympus Corporation has focused on "Opto-Digital Technology" as its core competence, technological strengths that competitors cannot easily imitate, to maximize corporate value and to become one of the top optical instrument manufactures.

It's population comprises fifty percent Bioroid, with the remaining half normal humans, the large majority which have immigrated into the society from their old war-torn nations. Ethinically, the state is highly multicultural. It hosts the diminished successor to the United Nations (in the form of its government, the Central Management Bureau), as well as ES.W.A.T. and the O.R.A., a paramilitary and military which could be viewed as replacements to NATO.

Olympus, utsedd P85-675 av Tau'ri, är en planet i Vintergatan galaxen som har en Stargate och är hem till en lokal befolkning.
Other temporary gates to Earth have been occasionally created by deities desiring them, but they require immense energies to maintain and are usually short-lived. To the west of Olympus are two dimensional bridges; on to an alternate Earth which serves as home to many of the Greek heroes as well as to Hippolyta’s Amazons, and one to the regions of Osa and Pelion, wilder, untamed areas where occasional rogue cyclopes and titans still roam, as well as some of the other more monstrous creatures from Greek mythology. Another gate exists in the western forests, this one a series of caves which connect to multiple realms; one cave exits in Asgard, at the mountains of Jotunheim (in fact, the ancestors of Jotunheim’s storm giants were rumored to have been driven from early Olympus). Viewed from above, Olympus is a small but beautiful Grecian city built atop a mountain, climbing steadily as one moves north and peaking at the Eagle Seat. From the side, it looks something like a barbell standing on end, with a broad base where the gate to Earth lies, a steep mountainous climb through the barbell's “handle,” and with the city of Olympus placed on the top end of the barbell. A variety of “stars” and “planets” move above and around Olympus; a very few of these actually are inhabited by Olympian exiles (and other alien races), though interactions with the denizens of these are exceedingly rare. The giants Krokarr, Manduu and Y’Androgg have previously invaded Olympus from one of these planets. Olympus itself is populated by its deities and their descendants, by those who have been brought there to serve, and by a fortunate few allowed to live there (or who hide in the forests). While the majority of Olympus’ residents appear human, it is not uncommon to find centaurs, satyrs and nymphs within the city proper. Olympus’ worst criminals are confined to Hades, while lesser offenders might find themselves exiled to a neighboring realm. Most of the elder deities of Olympus have their own temples, halls, or gardens, and the hall of Zeus houses the heavily guarded Temple of the Promethean Flame. A now-slain captive Titan originally served as its ward, but demigods Kratos and Bia now lead the Temple’s guards.
As such, the population of the planet continued to serve Zeus and maintain his temples and palace on Mt. Olympus where the Stargate was located. Indeed, because the land was so fertile, the people had to work little to produce the nurishment that they needed to survive and so they were able to devote more of their time to art, music, and festivals in Zeus's honor. It was because of this that Zeus, both before and after his banishment, along with his 'sons', chose to take part in the revelries and let themselves go from their responsibilities, however temporarily. Since Zeus returned from power after Cronus's death, he learned to care for his people—or at the very least appear to do so—and so the population of the planet was allowed to live their lives as they saw fit. (RPG: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords") Sometime after Zeus's return, an SG team discovered the Stargate address for Olympus and visited the planet during one of its many celebrations. After a small amount of reconnaissance, the team discovered both Zeus and his First Prime Heracles on the planet. Noticing that, unlike most Goa'uld, Zeus seemed approachable and friendly, the SG team chose to speak with them rather than simply leave the planet. Zeus used this opportunity to give the team the address of a critical system which was controlled by one of his enemies, convincing the team that it was an "evil" Goa'uld. As the SG team took this address, Zeus decided that they would either be triumphant and kill his enemy or would be killed themselves, and so he would prosper either way. (RPG: "System Lord Plot Hooks")
