n8:abstract
The Wirewolf is a mysterious creature that feeds off of electrical currents. These currents sustain the creature, enabling it and its host to live far beyond the average life expectancy of a normal human being. This strange beast is a perfect fusion of not only man and beast, but also of the primal and technological species. The creature is a bionic variety of werewolf, and as such is immune to the common and superstitious silver bullet trick, being that this metallic monstrosity is a blessing. If control is acquired for, the host can survive on even the simplest of energy sources, such as batteries, as well as the ability to change at will, which may be granted. But if the primal programming is allowed to take hold of the host, they are subject to an uncontrollable urge to attack not only the richest source of energy it can find, but also the ones closest to them. How the host becomes this creature is yet unclear. The best method for dealing with this creature are at there best given slim odds of success. One must appeal to the host's better nature or trigger a response to a happy memory. If the feeling is strong enough, the host will revert to human thought. If not, the most it can do is help the host regain control and consciousness. The Wirewolf is a minor antagonist (later anti-hero) of the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series. He was known as Space Ranger Ty Parsec who was bitten by the space vampire Nos-4-A2 that led to his transformation. He was voiced by Steve Hytner. Wirewolf is a cybernetic monstrosity and the result of a freak accident combining the bite of an energy Vampire and the radiation of the Canis Lunis Moon. He is Tyler's pet. A Wirewolf is a type of Chaos Daemon Engine that was encountered by Imperial forces during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. All of the the Wirewolfs encountered were in the service of Magister Anakwanar Sek, the commander of the Chaos militia known as the Sons of Sek. The Wirewolf, like all Daemon Engines, are machines powered by a trapped daemonic entity, although unlike most Daemon Engines used by the Forces of Chaos, Wirewolves can take a variety of shapes and forms, all depending on their maker's will. These range from knights in full armour to actual hounds. When they are inactive, Wirewolves hang from specially fashioned "gibbets", where arcane practices made the space between the Materium and the Immaterium thin so the Warp could finger its way through the aether when the correct commands came. The beasts could be summoned by wandering "glyfs", which are sentient Chaos runes, at the slightest hint of disturbances from the area's enslaved population. Once awoken, Wirewolves were known to be nearly uncontrollable, often attacking friends and foes alike. A downside to the usage of Wirewolves was that they expended their energy quickly, and were required to periodically return to their "gibbets" to recharge, but when they were fully awoken, there was little that could stand before their assault. When a Wirewolf is damaged enough or destroyed, its ruptured metal carcass will be torn open by the escaping daemonic entity within, unleashing the contained Warp energy in a ferocious explosion that could potentially kill anyone within its blast radius.
