Glynis
rdfs:comment
Lady Glynis was Princess Carline's companion. She became a companion two years before the start of the Riftwar. Glynis was a worker at Elliston's Raincoat Factory in Coronation Street in 1961. She was a friend of Sheila Birtles and Doreen Lostock, who also worked there. Glynis and Sheila enjoyed hanging around outside the Corner Shop to gossip about the neighbours during lunch breaks, and lapping up any male attention that came their way. Glynis was played by Anna Gymer. Although Glynis and Sheila first appeared together in Episode 8, with Doreen introduced later in Episode 12, only Sheila and Doreen's characters were developed, and Glynis was quickly phased out. She appeared in five episodes. Glynis was a female Human presumably born on Mars in the early 2260s. By age eight, she had decided she wanted to enter Starfleet Academy and serve aboard a starship. To this end, she dedicated herself to the study of space exploration, including the history of the first Lunar landing. In 2269, she visited Tranquility Park on Luna, where she had a brief chance encounter with Dr. Leonard McCoy. (TOS novel: Prime Directive) Young Glynis may be Admiral Glynis Kestell Tabor, the author of the historical extract that forms the prologue of this novel.
