Mostly the reason why he gets away with it with the LAPD, mostly he helps them solve a lot of tough cases that the LAPD cannot crack themselves. His father Joseph "Rocky" Rockford is a retired truck driver and worries about his son. Always helps him out in cases a lot and always helps him bails him out with the LAPD. That is why he is the best P.I. in the world. He is also good as Sherlock Holmes.
