Melee and by extension Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Klaptraps appear in two different colors: orange and blue. They are crocodile looking enemies that have a large mouth with big teeth. Klaptrap do not come out of container items like other enemies do. The Klaptraps can however be used as regular items in the Test stage using an Action Replay. Klaptraps cannot be killed either. Klaptraps are small Kremlings found in Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Land, and Donkey Kong 64 as commonly found enemies in the games. They scurry quickly along the ground, jaws clapping together just waiting to bite into a Kong. They usually have a small walk cycle where they patrol back and forth along it. One well-placed jump by either Donkey or Diddy will eliminate a Klaptrap. In Donkey Kong 64, if a Klaptrap is hit, their teeth will continue to chase after the Kong but the teeth can easily be defeated by another hit or just avoiding them until they break apart. They also appear in Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Party 7, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Power Tennis and Super Smash Bros. Brawl as cameos and small appearances. Purple Klaptraps are found in very few levels but are almost more lethal than regular Klaptraps. When Donkey or Diddy Kong jumps up, the purple Klaptraps jump up too. The Kongs must time their jumps appropriately to land on them to take them out. Purple Klaptraps occur most numerously in the Loopy Lights level. When Klaptraps are encountered in bonus levels, one hit does not take them out. When jumped on, they release bananas and their walk cycle speeds up every time they are hit. The Kongs need to be careful when jumping: they walk very fast - it is very difficult to hit them. When the Kongs defeat the Klaptrap, they receive a prize such as an Animal Token or an Extra Life Balloon.CrocodileDonkey Kong CountryKlaptraps are small Kremlings, and constantly fight the kongs. They were originally featured in Donkey Kong Junior. They, along with Kritters, are common in most games. King K. Rool has a pet klaptrap named Kustard that he favors much.KlaptrapSuper Smash Bros. Melee and by extension Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Klaptraps appear in two different colors: orange and blue. They are crocodile looking enemies that have a large mouth with big teeth. The orange Klaptraps appear in Kongo Jungle. They jump out from the waterfall near the edges of the stone ledge and near the Barrel Cannons. If a character makes contact with a Klaptrap, he/she will take damage. The Klaptraps sometimes get stuck in the Barrel Cannon. If a character tries to use a barrel cannon with a Klaptrap stuck in it, they will not be able to use the cannon and will also take damage from making contact with the Klaptrap. The blue Klaptraps appear in Jungle Japes. They jump between the opening on either side of the middle section of the stage. If a character makes contact with a Klaptrap, they are meteor smashed and will not be able to recover back to the stage. Character hanging on the edge are vulnerable to a Klaptrap's attack.
