Founded in far more recent times, House Bellamy stands apart from its fellows of lengthy lineage and strong bloodlines. House Bellamy began as a peasant family, infamous sellswords and mercenaries in which all male and some females would train to serve in the service of the wealthy. Founded in far more recent times, House Bellamy stands apart from its fellows of lengthy lineage and strong bloodlines. House Bellamy began as a peasant family, infamous sellswords and mercenaries in which all male and some females would train to serve in the service of the wealthy. It would just so happen that the then patriarch of the Bellamys, Desmond Bellamy, was in the employ of King Atlon Wrenne. During his service, Desmond Bellamy found himself and his men superior to the foppish noblemen who composed the king’s guard. Due to this, the Bellamy guardsmen often compensated for the king’s own, which would stand at on one certain night. It was on this night that the king’s own guard were cut down by attackers, and a remainder of Bellamy’s forces were forced to fend off the assailants. The Bellamys defeated the men, and infamously never allowed their opponents to not step within a 2 meter box they formed about the king’s shocked form. It was this night that the King granted Desmond Bellamy a title of his own, a small plot in the highborn gardens. From then on, Bellamy descendants have followed in their primarch’s footsteps as able guardsmen for men of wealth and power. To the other houses, Bellamy comes off as an upstart and crude clan of peasants, with no proper blood. But as the Bellamy’s are directly backed to their claims by the word of the Wrennes, no one has yet to openly oppose them. Despite their attitude of disdain, many Granthelian nobles can boast a small complement of Bellamy guardsmen, trained family members from the house. Following in Desmond’s footsteps, every single male family member devotes himself to training in combat from a young age. After that, they are hired out to nobles, royals, and the wealthy of Granthelia and abroad. It is in this way that the house garners a handsome revenue, and a finer reputation as loyal protectors. It is rumored that occasionally the women of Bellamy also follow such a path, but it has not happened in some time. Despite their upstart nature and the disdain they incur, the Bellamys stride onward successful and proud of their brief lineage.
