"This is accomplished usually against a wall or any other enclosed space where a player can easily stand on top of another player. The bottom player (and, if he is experienced in the timing of the technique, the top player) jumps continually. The bottom player's jumping causes the top player to rise slightly then fall after the bottom player has landed. Eventually, the bottom player will jump up at the precise moment as the top player sinks down, and the players will occupy the same space. The physics engine will then cause both players to rise continually until they have struck an impediment or been moved by an attack."@en . . . . "Elevator"@en . . . "RCT2: 3x3"@en . . "Hey ! Also eigentlich nichts besonderes heutzutage. The elevator or elevators may be the only pitch control surface present, or may be hinged to a fixed or adjustable surface called a stabilizer. In some aircraft the elevator is in the front, ahead of the wing; this type of configuration is called a canard, the French word for "duck." The Wright Brothers' early aircraft were of this type. The canard type is more efficient, since the forward surface produces upward lift. The main wing is also less likely to stall, as the forward control surface is configured to stall before the wing, causing a pitch down and reducing the angle of attack of the wing."@en . They are primarily used to get from one level of a building to another, though as far as gameplay goes, they serve as a temporary place of respite for the player to regather themselves after an intense chase. Oddly, when inside the elevator, the player can only move, and cannot jump or attack, but if you look closely, when you have Faith run into the door of an elevator on the inside, her hand wearing a glove will be fatter and whiter than the hand not wearing a glove. During the game, when being chased, Faith's enemies don't seem to follow her into the elevators. Each elevator is installed with a City Eye vid screen, depicting the news in text based format. Various articles are displayed, usually in the format of propaganda. Such articles seen have referenced the November Riots, "Five signs someone you know might be a runner:", "The newest threat to children: RUNNING", "Avian Flu. Here to stay?" and several other political and commercial references, even going as far as to warn citizens of what they listen to on the radio. There has only been one unsolicited message on the City Eye viewscreens, located in every elevator inside Robert Pope's office building, voicing a claim that the current, dystopian, state of the city is wrong and that change must be exacted for the moral benefit of the populace. In two situations (during Chapters 4 and 9), you must climb out of an elevator via the escape hatch on the ceiling. As the escape hatch isn't one that falls, it is unknown how the City Protection Force don't notice the door hanging from the ceiling, or anything else indicating that it is open. Elevators are also used as a replacement to a loading screen. Some believe this is a handy way to hide loading, others believe it is frustrating and meaningless. In the iOS version of the game, elevators are faithfully included as loading screens, but only upon the beginning of a level. Another difference is that the view is a still image with a scrolling information panel, rather than a three-dimensional cube space the player can move around in the full game."@en . "Elevators vary in design and method of propulsion. The 2D games featured slow floating panels that lowered and raised Samus along narrow tunnels. The elevators on planet Tallon IV use a traditional rail/pulley system. The elevators of Aether are much faster, utilizing a jet booster to launch the pads down and upwards at high speeds. In Metroid: Other M, the elevators are more like modern ones. Another varying aspect of elevators is the method of activation. Some require the user to simply step on them then use the Up or Down key commands, as do the elevators of Zebes or the ones on the Biologic Space Laboratories research station. In the first two games in the Prime Series, Samus must scan a nearby terminal to project a hologram. Upon entering this hologram, the elevator will activate. In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, there are several different ways to activate elevators. These include the use of Hand Scanners, touch-screen terminals, the Grapple Lasso and the old scanning method. In Other M, elevators activate immediately when Samus steps into them. In Other M, at one point Samus has to cause a broken elevator to fall and crush a Ghalmanian, simultaneously clearing her path. It's also possible for the elevator to crush Samus and kill her if she doesn't get into one of the alcoves built in the sides of the room within a certain time limit. Later, Samus also has to use a Morph Ball launcher to bust through the floor of another broken elevator and progress."@en . . "Elevators vary in design and method of propulsion.
