Adalae Jane Johnson was born the second child into a wizarding family. While not an old family that moved in the upper echelons of wizarding society, all of her immediate family had magical blood up until her grandparents. From there, the line grew murkier and harder to tell. Adalae grew up best friends with her sister Emily, who was only a year older. Emily watched out for her younger sister and nicknamed her "Firebaby" due to both her quick temper and bright red hair. Both girls were sorted into at Hogwarts and in her fifth year, Addie became a prefect. Seventh Year was the most challenging for Addie simply because of the loss of her sister. By the time the year was over, she was extremely eager to go visit Emily in France.

From there, the line grew murkier and harder to tell. Adalae grew up best friends with her sister Emily, who was only a year older. Emily watched out for her younger sister and nicknamed her "Firebaby" due to both her quick temper and bright red hair. Both girls were sorted into at Hogwarts and in her fifth year, Addie became a prefect. Seventh Year was the most challenging for Addie simply because of the loss of her sister. By the time the year was over, she was extremely eager to go visit Emily in France. Much to Addie's surprise, upon her arrival to France, she discovered that Emily had settled into real life without her. Her sister was happy, had a job she loved, and a flat shared with her boyfriend. Feeling betrayed and devastated, Addie returned to England almost right away and shut herself away from human company. Her always quick temper grew steadily worse and she discovered that if she made everyone hate her, she wouldn't have to deal with betrayal ever again. Without the influence of her big sister, Addie fell into some self-destructive patterns. She became a Hit Witch for the , started drinking and partying on an almost nightly basis, and began smoking like a fiend. She also found ways to channel her anger through physical violence, whether punching walls or other people. Determined to make a mark on her life that would last forever, Addie got three tattoos on an impulse. One is on her right wrist and says "Proprius" (Latin for "Permanent"), another is a ring of fire around her left ankle, and the third is a star surrounded by a fiery ring on her left foot. The most significant tattoo Addie received, however, was her Dark Mark. A mere day after receiving her other tattoos, Adalae was recruited for the by Alexander Stonem, with whom she began a relationship.
