Summer Islands
rdfs:comment
The Summer Islands (or Summer Isles) are an archipelago of large islands in the Summer Sea. They are located southeast of Westeros, southwest of Volantis and northwest of mainland Sothoryos. The island of Naath is located to the east, between the Summer Islands and mainland Sothoryos. The inhabitants of the Summer Isles are notably dark-skinned. There are at least three large and numerous small islands in the group. How far south the archipelago extends is unknown, as maps usually only show the northernmost part of the chain. The three large islands are called Walano, Omboru and Jhala. Smaller islands include Stone Head, Koj, the Isle of Birds, Singing Stones, Three Exiles, Moluu, the Isle of Love, the Isle of Women, Xon, Doquu and the Bones. The Smiling Sea divides Walano and Omboru, and the Indigo Straits divide Omboru from Jhala. Summer Islands are a group of islands south of Betancuria. To get there from Betancuria, one has to travel down the Great River for about 5 days and a few more on the open sea. The islands have a surprisingly warm climate, likely helped by sea currents. It can still be windy and rainy, but the warmth makes life much more bearable than the cold and icy weather in Betancuria. Most of the islands are quite small but all feature golden sandy beaches, lush semi-tropical forests, and knee-high grass. The only inhabitants are the wildlife, primarily made up of seabirds, mosquitoes, snakes, and even bears. The Summer Islands (or Summers Islands) were a group of islands on planet Deneva, in the Iapetus Ocean. They were famed for their white sandy beaches, and bright cities featuring visual arts and live music. Deneva's capital, Lacon City, was located on the south shore of the largest of the Summer Islands. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls; TNG novel: Losing the Peace)

(ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls; TNG novel: Losing the Peace) Tuvok and T'Pel came to the Summer Islands after the Borg Invasion of 2381, where their son Elieth had lived with his wife, Ione Kitain. Following the assault, the islands were largely flattened, only barely raised above the ocean surface. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls) Summer Islands are a group of islands south of Betancuria. The Princess arrives on the largest of the Summer Islands during The Golden Chalice quest in order to explore the ruined Temple of Hyath, which can be found on the highest point of the Island. Walano contains the capital city of the Summer Islands, Lotus Port. Jhala contains the only other settlement large enough to be called a city, Ebonhead. Towns of the Summer Islands include Last Lament at the north-western tip of Walano and Tall Trees Town near the island's south-eastern tip. Jhala is the largest of the three islands and includes two notable, settled valleys: the Sweet Lotus Vale which runs from north to south to Ebonhead and the sea, and the Red Flower Vale which runs east to west along the island's axis.
