David Woodcock (born 1954 in West Sussex) is an English actor who has appeared in many high-profile TV single dramas, comedies and continuing drama series such as Sunshine, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, Heartbeat and Emmerdale. Woodcock graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in 1975 and went on to perform in numerous theatres around the UK. He made his professional debut in the same year when he appeared in a production of Cyrano De Bergerac at the Chichester Festival Theatre. His West End debut was in 1985 at the Queens Theatre playing Urban, with Charlton Heston in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.

He has played two minor roles in Coronation Street: firstly as accounts clerk Dennis Proctor in September 1991 and in October 2007 he played the role of a Jeweller who paid Cilla Battersby-Brown £45,000 for the necklace that had been given to her by the late Frank Nichols.
