"Turtle Heart was a Quadling from Ovvels, who came to Munchkinland after the Wizard's people had flattened his home in Quadling Country. He came to see Melena Thropp when Elphaba was very young and had been thought the possible father of Nessrose. He, Melena, and her husband Frex shared sexual contact and he stayed with them for some time in Rush Margins. He was a glass blower and blew Elphaba a disc in which he and she could see the future. At the end of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, Frex revealed that both he and Melena had been in love with Turtle Heart and he had seen Nessarose as the daughter of the three of them."@en . . . . . He died when he was sacrificed by Munchkinlander farmers after a long drought. His death prompted Frex and Melena to leave Munchkinland for Quadling Country where they worked as missionaries. According to the family trees given in A Lion Among Men, he is not the father of Nessarose, rather Frex is. Turtle Heart is never mentioned in the musical, nor is the glass disc which he gave to Elphaba as a child."@en . "Turtle Heart"@en . "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West"@en .
