At warp 2, the planet was located approximately 48 hours away from Benecia and 72 hours away from Starbase 2 in the opposite direction. (TOS: "Turnabout Intruder" ) In 2267, Doctor Janice Lester was sent to Camus II with a team of archaeologists to investigate the planet. When Dr. Lester found a life-energy transfer machine built by the now extinct Camus II natives, she devised a plan to take over the body of James T. Kirk and assume command of the starship USS Enterprise. Two years later, together with Dr. Arthur Coleman, Dr. Lester, secretly murdered the entire expedition staff by radiation exposure to lure the USS Enterprise to the planet to investigate the "mysterious" deaths. (TOS: "Turnabout Intruder" ) In 2293, the location of Camus II in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram) In 2328, this was the point of embarkation for passengers traveling to Deneb II City via commercial transport. Rene Echevarria traveled there on the SS Manoa, Molly Amos traveled on the SS Kogin, and Wendy Knoller and Eric Alba traveled on the SS Wisconsin. (TNG-R: "Inheritance" , okudagram) In 2367, the USS Enterprise-D was due at this planet for an archaeological survey, but diverted to Turkana IV responding to a distress call from the Arcos. (TNG: "Legacy" ) Camus II was a planet located in Federation space. In the distant past Camus II was home to a civilization which died out 200,000 years earlier. (Last Unicorn RPG module: All Our Yesterdays: The Time Travel Sourcebook) The planet had a large amount of celebium - a radioactive material which with prolonged exposure was fatal to humanoid life, and as a result recent visitors have had to rely of shielding to protect them from the celebium. Janice Lester was sent to Camus II with an archaeological team to investigate the planet in the late 2260s. She found a machine there that let her change bodies, which she later did with James T. Kirk. (TOS episode: "Turnabout Intruder") The USS Enterprise-D was on its way to Camus II in 2367, when it was diverted to Turkana IV. (TNG episode: "Legacy") In 2371, when the crew of Deep Space 9 were preparing for a Dominion attack, Jadzia Dax arranged for a warp-capable transport ship to be permanently stationed in the Bajoran arctic. If the Jem'Hadar should attack the station, its civilian population and non-essential Starfleet personnel would be taken to the transport, which would then take them to Camus II. Federation personnel would be waiting for them there. (DS9 novelization: The Search) By the 2370s, Camus II was well known for its coffee and coffeehouses. (DS9 novelization: The Search) thumb|Die Enterprise in Orbit von Camus II.
