Bullwhip got these powers by enlisting the aid of Dr. Corso. He seemingly was not satisfied enough with the weapons. So, he and his gang kidnapped Dr. Corso's wife April and blackmailed him into making upgrades to his wrists. However, Batman got involved and the gang overpowered him the first time. After stalking them to their hideout, Batman and Dr. Corso found out that April wasn't kidnapped, but there willingly and was having an affair with Bullwhip. Dr. Corso panicked and fled. Bullwhip's ultimate fate is unknown but Bruce implied that Dr. Corso most likely murdered him. Made of leather with plaited tiny nuggets of copper woven into the braids. The bullwhip begins to glow with yellow light by a spell whenever it comes into contact with undead beings. It protects the user by radiating a power that is abhorrent to them. It increases combat prowess when used in batle against the undead. A bullwhip is a kind of weapon. In addition to its obvious uses, it can be applied to grab weapons out of enemies' hands. Bullwhips are ineffective against thick-skinned monsters. Archeologists start with a +2 bullwhip. This is a reference to the Indiana Jones movies of Lucas and Spielberg. The demon balrogs are always generated with a bullwhip, and can steal your weapon with it. Bullwhip, real name Harold, was a supervillain able to extract metal whips from his wrists. In 2268, Parmen the leader of the Platonians, attempted to force James T. Kirk to use a bullwhip against Lieutenant Uhura but Kirk was able to withstand Parmen's power. (TOS: "Plato's Stepchildren" )

After Batman disabled all his teammates, Bullwhip returned to Dr. Corso asking him to upgrade his wrists again and "don't hold back". Dr. Corso took his drill out and Bullwhip's words literally and proceeded to work on his wrists.
