Pokémon Trainer
rdfs:comment
A Pokémon Trainer is a person whose life is dedicated to catching Pokémon and using them in battles. Their goal in life is to capture and train all the Pokémon in the world. They also hope to defeat the Elite Four of their respective league. A Pokémon Trainer appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, having Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard as his Pokémon. Squirtle is fast and agile, but can be KO'ed easily reason being that he's lightweight. Ivysaur has many attacks which deal a lot of damage, but his only recovery is a tether. Charizard has many good damaging moves that could have high knockback, but is very slow. His Final Smash is called Triple Finish, where all 3 Pokémon come out and attack. Squirtle uses Hydro Pump, Ivysaur uses Solar Beam, and Charizard uses Flamethrower in their Final Sma Pokémon Trainer (ポケモントレーナー, Pokemon Torēnā), is a character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. His design is based on the trainer in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. Rather than fighting directly as the Trainer, the player instead controls his three Pokémon, which consist of Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. The three Pokémon all share the same damage meter, but they have their own individual Stamina stat, which balance out the use of each Pokémon. Knocking out one of the Pokémon will make Pokémon Trainer lose a life. It is possible to choose which Pokémon the player begins the match with. By clicking on the Pokémon of the player's choice on the portrait (not the icon), the player will start with that Pokémon. Selecting Pokémon Trainer himself makes the starting Pokémon randomly chosen. A Pokémon Trainer (ポケモントレーナー, Pokemon Torēnā) is any human in the fictional world of Pokémon whose hobby, pastime, or profession is the collecting, caretaking, and competitive battling of any of the eponymous Pokémon creatures. The humans being the commanders of their custom-trained Pokémon in battles is as important as the abilities of the Pokémon themselves in all forms of Pokémon media. People with at least one Pokémon creature can be considered a Pokémon Trainer. In this sense, people in related Pokémon occupations, such as Pokémon coordinators or Pokémon breeders, can also be considered to be Pokémon Trainers. Many Pokémon Trainers compete in a regional Pokémon League. To qualify for league competition, a Trainer must win a number of badges from various Pokémon Gym Leaders throughout the region through Pokémon Battles by defeating the gyms' leaders. Pokémon Trainer is the term commonly used for a person who catches, occasionally names, and trains several different kinds and types of Pokémon. Pokémon Trainers generally start their journey at the age of 10 (11 in Alola), when they receive their first Pokémon. However, they can start later. In the Unova region, the playable character is around sixteen, not ten. The starter Pokémon that Pokémon Trainers receive depends on what town they live in and which region they live in.

People with at least one Pokémon creature can be considered a Pokémon Trainer. In this sense, people in related Pokémon occupations, such as Pokémon coordinators or Pokémon breeders, can also be considered to be Pokémon Trainers. Some Trainers carry a Pokédex with them, which serves as identification as well as a tool for keeping track of the Pokémon a Trainer has seen or caught. The process of completing such a list is known as "filling" the Pokédex. A Trainer who has filled the Pokédex (with minor exceptions) is a Pokémon Master. In the animated series, the Pokédex is already loaded with much of the information that a Trainer needs in order to identify Pokémon, but in the video games, the data of a Pokédex starts empty and must be gradually filled as more Pokémon are seen or caught. Seeing a Pokémon will give a picture of its image, and the area in the region it lives in. Catching one will give a small bio, and reveal its weight and height in comparison with the trainer. Many Pokémon Trainers compete in a regional Pokémon League. To qualify for league competition, a Trainer must win a number of badges from various Pokémon Gym Leaders throughout the region through Pokémon Battles by defeating the gyms' leaders. An individual usually receives their Pokémon Trainer's license when they become or are older than 10 years old. Authorities chosen by the regional Pokémon League, usually a Pokémon expert such as Professor Oak, will allow a Trainer to choose their first Pokémon from three, which vary from region to region. Of course, those people who already have possession of a Pokémon, either as a pet or inherited through family, may eschew this process and start their journey with that Pokémon. In the video games, a second Trainer, generally referred to as the "rival", will choose the Pokémon with the type advantage over the player's starter. However, in Pokémon Black and White, there is a second rival, with both rivals taking one starter. Squirtle uses Hydro Pump, Ivysaur uses Solar Beam, and Charizard uses Flamethrower in their Final Smash. The English voice over is done by Michelle Knotz. Most Pokémon trainers have a common goal: to be the ultimate Pokémon trainer, a prestigious title which is only obtainable by defeating the Elite Four and becoming the Pokémon Champion. There are almost as many Pokémon trainers as there are Pokémon. Each one uses different Pokémon, a different fighting style, and a different attitude. There are usually different levels of Pokémon Trainers in terms of difficulty, Ace Trainers often being the strongest. Red is the strongest trainer in Pokémon Gold and Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver. His Pikachu is level 81 in Generation II and 88 in Generation IV, making Red the toughest trainer to beat. It is unlikely that the player could beat him unless all of their party Pokémon were at least in their mid-eighties in level. Few, however, succeed in this aim except Ash Ketchum, the male protagonist of the anime and movies who never gives up on his dream. He travels the Pokémon world in a mission to catch every single different Pokémon and add it to his Pokédex. By his side is always his trusty electric mouse Pokémon, Pikachu. There are usually Pokémon Trainers almost anywhere that isn't deserted. Pokémon Trainers usually reside and battle on routes in order to weaken the protagonist/player and slow them down. Pokémon Trainers are almost always found in towns, routes, buildings, and the Victory Road. They also inhabit Gyms. Pokémon Trainer (ポケモントレーナー, Pokemon Torēnā), is a character in Super Smash Bros. Whichever Pokémon is currently battling will have its picture shown in the bottom of the screen, next to the damage percentage and the series logo. The picture then presumably changes when a new Pokémon is sent out. Pokémon Trainer and the Pokémon that was out during the match's end will appear together on the Results screen. Pokémon Trainer will hang his head while the Pokémon claps if he loses. If he wins the Pokémon is named as the winner, while Pokémon Trainer and his Pokémon do their victory pose together. When the current Pokémon is KO'd, the next in the Pokémon Change cycle will appear on the "halo" platform (Squirtle KO'd leads to Ivysaur, etc.). If one of his Pokémon gets a certain item (Super Mushroom, Metal Box, etc.), the Pokémon Trainer would be unaffected by it. Contrary to some claims, this character is not Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon anime series. Masahiro Sakurai has stated that only characters originating from video games are eligible for inclusion in Brawl's roster. However, he is similar in appearance to Red, the main character of Pokémon (Red, Blue, Yellow, LeafGreen, FireRed). For the various voice clips that are used, a new English voice actor from the anime (Sarah Natochenny, who voices Ash) is not in this game, despite popular belief. Michele Knotz, who voices Nurse Joy, May, and characters other than Ash, was given the role. Various accommodations are made for Pokémon Trainer in several stages. In moving stages like Halberd and Delphino Plaza, Pokémon Trainer only appears on the stationary sections. On the Bridge of Eldin, Pokémon Trainer always stays to the left, so that he never gets hit by the bomb that destroys the middle of the bridge. In Norfair, Pokémon Trainer stands on a special platform in the background that flies away when the huge lava wave is coming. Pokémon Trainer will appear on a similar background platform for any custom stage or Melee stage. Pokémon Trainer was once ranked 30th, but has fallen to 32nd place in the second version of the tier list. He is currently the lowest ranked newcomer. This is partly due to players being forced to master all three Pokemon playstyles, as well as a general lack of high-level Pokemon Trainer players. The stamina problem forces a PT player to make crucial decisions about whether to try and switch safely or to just keep piling on the damage and hope for a KO, with the problem being most apparent when fighting as Squirtle. The Pokémon also all suffer recovery issues, ranging from poor to relatively predictable (from bad to manageable: Ivysaur, Squirtle, Charizard).
