During the battle in Helheim, he falls in combat. A valkyrie comes for him, while Apsel is protecting his body to fend off the demon invasion. Marten tells him that the pack will turn on him if he doesn't let up. Nielssen responds by saying he cares to much about his wolves to go soft on them, and that he accepts the fact that every pack will eventually turn on their alpha. He is later killed in a fight with Marten after shooting the youngest member of the wolf pack for not being able to keep up. Marten receives an injury in this fight. Esbern: A Bear trooper who feels he has earned the respect he receives. He later gets into a small altercation with the wolves, where he relates a fight between him and a younger soldier with an actual Bear fighting an actual Wolf. Marten steps in and, while initially agreeing with Esbern in measure of a Bear's strength, the Wolf's true power lay with the strength and cunning of the pack as a whole, which could easily overpower the bear. This response ends the arguement immediately. Siegmund: A medic who believes there is more to life than just an endless battle with their machine foes. When trying to revive one of his fallen comrades in the ice forest, a valkyrie comes down to take the soldier. Siegmund begs for more time, but the valkyrie puts a hand to his arm, sharing a soft gaze with him, allowing him to be at peace with the fact that his friend will be among the All Father in Asgard. It is uncertain when the Smurfs first encountered humans, though it is probably around 10 years prior to their present-day adventures that they first encountered Gargamel the evil wizard (as was revealed in "Gargamel's Time Trip"). In the "non-canonical" Smurf story "The Smurfs And The Magic Flute", their first encounter with humans was with Sir Johan and Peewit, who were searching for the magic flute that Matthew McCreep had stolen and used to commit robberies. Grandpa Smurf had also encountered various humans during his 500-year journey to find the purest sources of the four primal elements to restore the power of the Long Life Stone. In the 2011 Smurfs movie, the Smurfs came across two humans, Patrick and Grace Winslow, in modern-age New York City for help in reopening the portal in Central Park so that they could return to their own place in time. The other humans in that place in time either ignored their presence or, as in the case of the Smurfs visiting the FAO Schwarz toy store, assumed that they were animatronic toys. The Smurfs also discover that a human named Peyo (who in the real world is actually their creator) has documented their legend for future generations, likening them to leprechauns who are supposed to give whoever they visit good luck. Despite the benevolent nature of some of the humans the Smurfs have encountered, humans tend to be spoken of rather disparagingly by Papa Smurf due to the selfish and violent nature that lies deep within the hearts of humans, and he often warns his little Smurfs not to act like them. "Humans are by far the most numerous and prosperous race in Gaia, and more specifically Shafador. Spread across both the Old Continent and the new world, the Human race has many faces and many different cultures. For the most part all Humans share the same characteristics, lacking any true supernatural abilities the true strength of Humanity lies in their cunning and ingenuity, their ability to make the best of any situation and to invent and work tools. This is not the case for all Humans of course, due to their connection to Alkavir and the interest of the Ilakavir and Delkavir Humans are capable of having their blood infused with Magic to transform into something new. Such cases as the Marrokin, or the Awakened are evidence of this. Likewise, there exist a race of Humans known as the Nephilim, Humans with Non-Human souls that are granted powerful abilities based on the souls they have inherited. The great variation in Gaia’s territories cause a numerous amount of racial ethnic groups to coexist within its lands. Generally, the majority are united by common cultural, linguistic and religious practices, although in the central territories of the Empire a great ethnic variety still exists, because during the years that followed the War of God, refugees from all the areas of the world met to found Abel. Therefore, the union of these towns is more and more frequent, making it slightly more difficult to delimitate it. Even without being completely sure of its true number, the University of Lucrecio has classified more than two hundred different ethnic groups in the Old Continent alone. Nevertheless, to make its distinction simpler, they have been broken down further into nine primary groups, within which the majority of the others are included. Naturally, they are only archetypical images of ethnic characteristics that do not necessarily represent everyone. For example, ryuan can be enormous mastodons by the same token that there are small nordics with a feeble complexion. Asher: The asher are the main ethnic group within the central areas of the Old Continent. They are physically characterized by a slender constitution, well formed features and brown or gray eyes. They can have any hair color, but darker hues, like brunette or brown, are the most common. It could possibly be argued that they are the native inhabitants of central Gaia, although they are also found scattered through other more distant lands. It is impossible to place their origins, since from the time of the Holy Kingdoms they were the most plentiful and extensive settlers. Aion: The aionenses are the second most extensive ethnic group of the central territories of Abel. They are usually slightly taller and more stylized than the asher, but they maintain a similar athletic constitution. Their features tend to be fine, they have light colored hair and eyes, and a high percentage tend to be blond and blue-eyed. The popular belief is that the aionenses are the descendants of the original settlers of the Empire of Solomon. Tayahar: The tayahar population mostly live in lands of Al Enneth, although many of them have immigrated to distant lands, like Dwänholf. Their most notable racial characteristic is the color of their skin, slightly dark and burnished like metal. Generally their hair is of a subdued color, being most commonly brown and black. Their eyes can have any color, even clear tones. It is thought that they are originally from the desert areas of Kushistan and Salazar, although is impossible to determine their exact roots. Zínner: Although people tend to think that the zínner population is made up of only The Zigeuner, this ethnic group actually encompasses many more people. Normally considered nomads, the zínner have spread themselves throughout all of the north and central regions of the Old Continent. Since they are usually in constant travel, it is difficult to place their origins, but everything seems to indicate that they must originate northeast of the Old Continent. Zinner have skintones that range from pale to a light tan and often have darker colored hair, though many of them prefer to dye their hair vibrant colors or adorn them with unusual ornaments to make them stand out more. ZInner are also known for tattooing much of their body in odd and artistic works, often changing from group to group. Ryuan: Also known as the Varja, these people settled mainly through the eastern islands, although there is a large concentration living in Phaion Eien Seimon as well. They are characterized by their almond eyes, their slightly golden skin and by their hair, always black in color. They tend to be of short stature and athletic, wiry builds. The origins of the ryuan are in the natives of Varja, who for several thousand years lived on the island with minimum interference from other populations. For that reason, it is easy to affirm that they are one of the ethnic groups that have remained more or less unchanged over the course of history. Norne: The norne are the main inhabitants of the nordic regions, characterized by their girth, their severe personalities, their untidy blond or red hair and their pale skin tones. They share the same cultural roots and there are some that call them Caste of Holst. They are the original inhabitants of the Tip of the World, from where they settled to other lands. Vildian: The vildians mainly occupy the strip between the territories of Al Enneth and the heart of the Empire. Most of them have an average complexion and while hefty, they are not too tall. Their skin is slightly dark, and the color of their hair has great variety, but it mostly falls between brown and black. Daevar: The Daevar are most unusual ethnic group of Gaia. The have dark skin and completely white hair, a characteristic that makes them stand out especially to other ethnicities. They have an athletic and stylized constitution, fine features and dark eyes. They are not very numerous, but generally the majority are found in the central area of the Old Continent, mainly in Togarini. The origin of the daevar is quite enigmatic, but it is suspected that, like the aionenses, they come from another group of settlers of the old Empire of Solomon. Kwa: More than a single ethnic group, the kwa are the tree from which are born more than a hundred minority groups. They stand out for having their skin and hair completely black, a unique characteristic in Gaia. Usually physically they are big and robust, and are without a doubt the tallest individuals in the world. Their origins lie in the southeastern area of the Old Continent, from which they have spread themselves through a multitude of countries in said territories. Celsus: An ethnic group originally of the rainy forests of Alberia they are individuals with pale skin, clear hair and eyes and a robust constitution. Theoretically they are descendents of the inhabitants of an old kingdom that was located in one of the lost continents, where they came from more than fifteen hundred years ago."@en . . . . . . . By the early 20th Century the Human race had split into two main alliances, the Central Powers and the Triple Entente from which both powers fought for supremacy and dominance of Earth in a conflict known as World War 1 (1914–1918), which ended in the Central Powers' defeat and the disbanding of the Triple Entente, and the creation of the League of Nations. The Great War of the Gods seems to have had a decimating effect on the power of the Dwarves and Elves, since their influence is on the wane - in strong contrast to the Humans, a race which is well on the way to becoming established as the most powerful in the known world. Not that the Humans had it any easier than the others after the Great War - even after nigh-on a thousand years of comparative peace, they’re still not living in the lap of luxury... but in comparison to the greatly weakened Kingdom of the Dwarves and the lands to which the Elves and the Serpents retreated, Cathalon is a prosperous and up-and-coming Kingdom. The Great War of the Gods also affected the borders between the races’ territories. Before the carnage, humans had lived in the area around the town of Oswaroth, to the east of Cathalon, but the war razed their settlements to the ground - now what was once home to many humans is totally uninhabitable. Even today, sluggish poisonous vapors lie over the surface of the barren landscape, making approach impossible. The only creatures that seem to have developed any kind of immunity to these gases are monsters - and there are hordes of them in and around Oswaroth. The young and vibrant royal city of Cathalon is centrally located on the banks of the river Gon. A junction for trade routes and waterways, the King of Cathalon’s seat of residence is a busy and impressive town. One of the reasons for Cathalon’s recent strong emergence is its strict military organization. Individual towns in the kingdom retain their autonomy and have their own Town Guard. The taxes these towns pay to Cathalon aren’t all that high, but still enough to cause occasional protests. In emergencies, the Royal Guard protects the satellite towns. On the one hand, the Guard is seen as welcome reinforcements against enemies, but the Royal Guard and tension among the citizens seem to go hand-in-hand in the satellite town where the Guard is temporarily stationed. However, the proud and energetic citizens of Cathalon can be satisfied with the relatively rapid development of their kingdom, but there is one nameless threat in their lives… the faceless Taint, which seems to be approaching Cathalon from the east. It’s said to be omnipresent in Antaloor and getting stronger by the minute. The Taint and the increasing strength of the barbarian tribes and the Orcs make life increasingly difficult, not just for the inhabitants of Cathalon, but for humans throughout Antaloor. More and more refugees from the countryside are fleeing to the towns for protection and the trading routes are no longer safe – the only ones who aren’t complaining are the mercenaries and the bounty hunters – they have plenty of work to do. The vast majority of humans on Earth do not believe in the supernatural, and do not have any idea that supernatural beings like vampires, werewolves, alraune, skeletons, scyllas and others exist among them. Rather than portray humans as completely helpless against such beings, Vamp! creator Ryohgo Narita turns the typical vampire-human predator-prey relationship on its head. In the Naritaverse, humans can become stronger by consuming the blood, flesh and ashes of a vampire. The more vampires they eat (and the more powerful the vampires are) the stronger the human becomes. A human who devours a vampire becomes an Eater, and thus can act as vampirekind's predators. Some ordinary humans (non-Eaters) are incredible enough that they can hold their own against the supernatural. Human Traugott Giessendörfer was the runner-up in a fighting tournament of supernatural beings, losing to a scylla called Melina. The human Lorenz is implied to be strong in his own right, and easily counters a young teenaged dhampyr by the name of Watt Stalf (although it should be noted that most dhampyrs typically never manifest traditional vampiric abilities). Further still, there are some ordinary humans who work as vampire hunters and exterminators without ever becoming Eaters (the concept of an Eater often repulses them), such as the humans who work for Otherworld Welfare Inc. Branch 666. In the specific case of Otherworld Welfare Inc, its members prey upon the weakest of vampirekind, like those who cannot stand the sunlight and sleep in their coffins all day. There are also some vampire hunters who are loners, rogues acting on their own personal desires (such as the Hunter who attempted to murder the vampire Rude Gardastance). The supernatural world has conflicting opinions when it comes to humans. The majority of vampires in Clans look down on humans as inferior creatures, and view them as prey and slaves. Members of The Organization have a more neutral and sometimes even favorable view of humans, though of course there are many members (lke Dorothy Nifas) who do not like humans at all. The human residents of the island Growerth have had a long history of voluntary coexistence with supernatural beings. After a tedious time of this, a certain chieftain merged his tribe with his neighbors. Word of this spread throughout the tribes, and soon they were all making alliances. Bigger wars were fought, and more humans left dead. But eventually the Blood Orcs came to the land of the humans, known as the Western Shores in modern civilization, but known as 'The Creation' by the humans of that time. The Blood Orcs put together gigantic raids and attacks, crushing human tribes. Eventually, the tribes could no longer put up with this and decided that an alliance of all the tribes was the best course of action. The chieftain of the most powerful tribe was crowned king of the humans, and he gave them new ideas such as stone and cities. Through their alliance, the humans drove the Blood Orcs out of the Western Shores and claimed the continent for theirself. Then the travellers left for home, and no contact was made between humans and the dwarfs for many decades afterward, but the humans remembered the Dwarves as the first souls who helped them, and centuries later, when the first human city was fully constructed, it was entitled "Dwarvenguard", in honour of the travellers. Then, the humans began to advance, and began migrating in all directions across the continent, eventually only to find a new race of frightening-looking people in the northern mountains… the Goblins. Through the influence of the current Human Emperor, Lucidus Terior, the Humans and the Goblins began a war, the Goblins being on the defensive. Eventually, casualties rose to unbearable levels, and the war subsided, but only to the point where full-fought battles were no-longer organized. From this point on, the human/goblin war could only involved the casual raid. Afterwards, the Humans then continued to migrate Northwards, through 2 more continents - through Nanacea and T'o'los - and finally, after more than a millenium, they finally came into contact with the Dwarfs again. Relationships were – surprisingly – docile, to the point where an alliance was made and the Dwarf empire agreed to allow human colonization of some of the Barag Isles."@en . . Eventually they developed stone tools and primitive weaponry. Eventually the first humans evolved in Africa and later spread across the globe; replacing other hominid populations in areas they colonize, most notably neanderthals, which they interbred with (every human outside of Africa possess a tiny amount of the neanderthal genome). Then the Toba eruptions had reduced their population severely and thus a genetic bottleneck began, hence the small differences (genetically speaking) despite their differences. At the end of the Holocene epoch, the rising temperatures began to accumulate to denser woodland. Humans had wiped out megafaunal species prior to the rise of agriculture. Agriculture then became common and the population density across Earth began to rise rapidly. Despite this humans still evolved, examples include the reduced size of wisdom teeth, and immunity against lactose."@en . . . . . . When in actuality they are the 3rd intelligent species on Earth, how could they be the third most intelligent people around? How can they be beaten by Dolphins, the 2nd most intelligent beings on Earth, and Mice? Mice?!?!?, they're the most intelligent beings on Earth? We've been experimenting on them, and we've actually touched and killed them. How can they be more intelligent then us? Well it's just a typo, cause mostly humans are the most intelligent beings on Earth. They've traveled to the moon, they've build the cities you see today, they've even invented most of the things that are available today. How can you say that they're third intelligent? This was followed by a global catastrophe which saw the two species brought to the edge of extinction, wherein they were forced to work together in a much more equal manner than before. Within 100 years of the catastrophe, humanity's creators became extinct, only leaving ruins and scattered artifacts in addition to some of their genes into humanity's gene pool. Now orphans of their creators, the Homo sapiens sub-species assimilated some of the other Homo species, continued to thrive and eventually spread across the globe."@en . . . . . .
