El Saarai-kaar fue el más alto rango que cualquiera de los usuarios de la Fuerza conocidos como Jensaarai podía obtener. En cualquier punto en el tiempo solamente podía haber un Saarai-kaar entre los Jensaarai. Como los otros Jensaarai, el Saarai-kaar llevaba una armadura cubierta con cortosis. This individual is charged with maintaining the studies of the Unifying Force and contributing this study to his/her acolytes. The Saarai-kaar also have lesser 'priests' in the form of Kissai and Kissai'ari. These priests assist the Saarai-kaar in their teaching as well as ministering to those without the Force to help guide them. Succession of Saarai-kaar can only be obtained from death of the current Saarai-kaar or by a ritual of passage to a proposed new Kissai'ari who is worthy. The first Saarai-kaar was Nikkos Tyris. After his death, he was succeeded by one of his disciples, the wife of an apprentice slain during an attack by the Jedi. Her name was not recorded. She was thought to hold the title even during the Yuuzhan Vong War.
