Dr. Christopher Meddows, also known as Dr. Meddows, is the main human antagonist of the 1988 remake of The Blob. He is a military scientist who specializes in bio-weapons, who created a germ warfare weapon which mutated into the Blob. While he didn't intend for it, he wanted to test it's potential, and has the town quarantined, deeming the civilians and some of his own men expendable. He was portrayed by the late Joe Seneca. He is the scientist responsible for the bio-weapons experiment in space that created The Blob. After the satellite that created it fell on Earth, he, together with a special team of scientists and soldiers salvaged it under a cover. Through Brian he found out, how the experiment in space created The Blob. He wanted to study it as a possible weapon in a future war and was prepared to sacrifice the town for that, if necessary. Brian Flagg discovered his intentions and returned to town to protect his girlfriend and the town from him and The Blob. Meddows found out, that he knew and tried to murder him. He later became another victim of the Blob. He died like the others.
