A kilt was a piece of fabric worn around the waist, typically knee-length, that acted as a covering for the genitals and lower extremities. A kilt is a skirt for guys. The Scottish have a long tradition of kilt wearing, possibly because they don't realize how gay this makes them look. Kilts are also the favored garment of disbarred lawyers with larger than normal male genitalia[1]. Montgomery Scott wore a kilt and accoutrements as part of his Starfleet dress uniform. (TOS: "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" , "The Savage Curtain" ). The idea for a kilt to be included as part of Scott's dress uniform was thought up by actor James Doohan. He later recalled, "They [the producers] immediately grabbed onto the idea. They sent to Scotland for the Scott tartan." (The World of Star Trek, 3rd ed., p. 94) The Kilt is a clothing item that can be worn. A kilt, as the term is used in this article, is a skirtlike traditional Scottish garment in its modern form as illustrated in the photo at right. In this form, the kilt, which is worn by both men and women, can be seen at modern-day Highland games gatherings in Scotland and elsewhere throughout the world. Historical forms of the Scottish kilt have differed in several particulars (some quite substantial) from the modern-day version. In the year 2267, James T. The Kilt is a clothing item that can be worn. A kilt, as the term is used in this article, is a skirtlike traditional Scottish garment in its modern form as illustrated in the photo at right. In this form, the kilt, which is worn by both men and women, can be seen at modern-day Highland games gatherings in Scotland and elsewhere throughout the world. Historical forms of the Scottish kilt have differed in several particulars (some quite substantial) from the modern-day version. More specifically, the organizations which sanction and grade the competitions in Scottish highland dancing and bagpiping all have rules governing acceptable attire for the competitors. These rules specify that kilts are to be worn (except that in the national dances, the female competitors will be wearing the Aboyne dress). Such images as this struck terror in the hearts of modern armies worldwide who thought they were facing an army of psycho-loonies stoked on PCBs. This individual is wearing an authentic Scottish kilt which exhibits a pattern known as the Macbeth plaid, the official clan tartan of Clan Macbeth. Members of this clan share a pathological fear that trees will attack their homes and this particular Scotsman can be seen to be keeping his bow and arrow trained on the nearby forest in case of trouble.
