A small, rocky, barren island, it is located on the northern edge of the Great Sea, surrounded by a few smaller islets and guarded by Warships. Before Hyrule was flooded, Gale Isle was a mountain peak which contained an entrance to the Wind Temple inside the mountain. However, the island still contains caverns, which lead down below to the Wind Temple. To prevent anyone from gaining access to the island's cave, a large statue that blew out wind at high speeds was built in front of the cavern's entrance. Even if this was destroyed, there was still a larger stone slab that could only be removed when the Wind Sage would play the \"Wind God's Aria\".
