A Kind of Magic is the twelfth album by English rock band Queen, released in 1986. It was their first studio album to be recorded digitally, and is based on the soundtrack to the film Highlander. Although Queen would release another four albums with Freddie Mercury (including the posthumous Made in Heaven and Queen Forever), A Kind of Magic would turn out to be the band's last album promoted with a concert tour, because of Mercury's diagnosis with AIDS the following year, which subsequently caused his death in 1991. For the first time in their career, the band allowed filming of them while they were in the recording studio. The video for "One Vision" shows them in various stages of writing and recording the song. A Kind of Magic was a Saturday evening TV magic show which ran from 1990 to 1992 on British TV. It starred magician Wayne Dobson, who was the primary performer, and former glamour model Linda Lusardi. However, for the third and final season, Lusardi was replaced by a selection of guest stars. Each week, Dobson would perform a number of close-up tricks and comedy sketches, before closing the show with a large-scale illusion featuring either Lusardi or that week's guest star. In Fairyland, fairies and ogres don't get married. It just doesn't happen! Willow the fairy and her beloved husband Gregore, a reformed ogre, have no choice but to emigrate and settle in the real world with their children Tom and Cindy. And boy are they unprepared! Here in the real world, there is no guarantee of a happy ending, especially when you add to the mix the other dysfunctional members such as Ferocia, the colorful, sharp-tongued witch, or His Highness, the Toad, still in search of that magical kiss. This ill-equipped and maladjusted family of immigrants goes from one blunder to another and it is going to take every ounce of courage and street smarts that Tom can muster in order to protect his family from all the curious intruders, for whom magic is more than a little bit strange!
