The invention of metalbending had a significant impact on weaponry usage and manufacturing. Since metalbenders could simply deform or otherwise defeat weapons from earlier time periods, people had to utilize other forms of fighting that did not involve metal-based weapons. The metalbenders' advantage against older types of weapons was annulled with the creation of a new range of unbendable, electrical ones.
