rdfs:comment
was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku period through late Azuchi-Momoyama Period, who served Tokugawa Ieyasu. Torii died at the siege of Fushimi where his garrison was greatly outnumbered and destroyed by the army of Ishida Mitsunari. Torii's refusal to surrender had a great impact on Japanese history; the fall of Fushimi bought Ieyasu some time to regroup and eventually win the Battle at Sekigahara.[citation needed] Torii Mototada (1539 - September 8, 1600) was a human, a samurai who lived in Japan in the 16th century. In the service of his lord, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Mototada held Fushimi Castle against a siege by the army of Ishida Mitsunari, ultimately resulting in the deaths of Mototada and every other person in the castle. Daimyo Torii Mototada (1539-1600) is a character in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties based on the real-life historical figure. He is voiced by Robert Ito.

n23:abstract
Torii Mototada (1539 - September 8, 1600) was a human, a samurai who lived in Japan in the 16th century. In the service of his lord, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Mototada held Fushimi Castle against a siege by the army of Ishida Mitsunari, ultimately resulting in the deaths of Mototada and every other person in the castle. When Hikaru Sulu was sent back in time to 1600 by the omnipotent being Weyland, he swore allegiance to Torii Mototada. Sulu was forewarned by his knowledge of history of the fate of Fushimi Castle's defenders, and was tempted to escape into the mountains with Mototada's pregnant concubine, the Lady Oneko, who was secretly a ninja spy and with whom Sulu had fallen in love. Sulu ultimately resisted the temptation to live without honor, and returned to Fushimi Castle and Mototada's service after leaving Oneko in safety at Mototada's house in Edo.
