Izanami Izanami Izanami Izanami Izanami Izanami
rdfs:comment
Izanami-no-Mikoto (Japanese: 伊弉冉尊 or 伊邪那美命; meaning "she who invites"), also known as Izanami-no-kami or simply as Izanami, is a goddess from Japanese mythology. She is a goddess of creation and of death. She's the former wife of the Japanese god, Izanagi-no-Mikoto. The Izanami is one of the Uchiha clan's ultimate dōjutsu. thumb|Az Izanami körforgása Az Izanami egy tiltott szemtechnika (doujutsu), ami egy végtelen körforgású illúzióba zárja a célpontot. It is a genjutsu which affects the target through physical sensations shared between them and the user. Like its counterpart, in exchange for the temporary ability that it grants the user, the Sharingan with which Izanami is cast is rendered blind and loses its light forever. According to Itachi, this technique and Izanagi form a pair, but unlike the latter, which is a technique capable of altering destiny, Izanami is instead one that "decides" it. Izanami (「伊弉冉尊」?; Izanami-no-mikoto; female who invites) was the second of the two kami created to give life to other worlds, and the first female kami to ever exist. Her husband and brother was Izanagi, who was also the first male kami. Her final promise, however, was not forgotten. She did indeed claim the promised lives day after day, and Izanagi only created more. In doing so, she became known as god of the underworld, greeting and caring for those who entered its gates and ensuring that everyone's greatest shame remained hidden in the murky depths of the shadows. Madame Izanami ran the House of the Golden Mist, a teahouse in the Old Quarter of Broken Wave City. The main service offered by the teahouse was anonymity, allowing patrons to wear non-descript garbs, unadorned kimono and masks of grey silk. This meant they could engage in all manner of behaviour without losing on, although the service catered only to those with sufficient means. Only the wealthiest and most well connected could gain access to this place and its services. Izanami is an anti-contractor weapon with Yin inside. The weapon has the ability to take away a contractor's ability, however, it is uncertain if this is all it can do and no explanation is given as to how it does this. Now it is clear that Izanami is Yin herself. And after episode 12 of Ryuusei no Gemini, it was presumably inactive. It is shown in the gaiden episodes, that Yin was possessed by Izanami, when she extends her hand, calling out Hei's name. Together, you created the islands of Nippon. Unfortunately, the intense strain and stress of creating Honshu, the central island of Nippon and also the last and largest, drained you of so much life energy that you fell to the underworld. By the time Izanagi found you, you had already been hideously corrupted by the underworld. Crazed, you lunged at your husband in an attempt to drag him down with you. Izanami-no-Mikoto (伊弉冉尊) is the primordial Shinto mother goddess and sister/wife to Izanagi-no-Mikoto. She helped stir the oceans on the Bridge of the Heavens, and settled down with Izanagi on Earth on their island Onogoro. On their first marriage ceremony, she made the mistake of speaking to Izanagi first, so the ritual had to be repeated. After the second ceremony she gave birth to various deities. But then she gave birth to Hi-no-Kagutsuchi the Deity of Fire, and died from the severe burns of the flames. When she perished, she went to Yomi, the Land of the Dead. Izanami ate from the furnace of Hell, and went to petition the deities of the Netherworld to let her go. She made her husband promise not to look at her, but Izanagi did anyway and was greeted by the sight of a rotting corpse with the Eight Thunders protruding from her body. Ashamed by Izanagi's indiscretion, she sent the Yomotsu-Shikomes, the Thunders and Yomotsu-Ikusas after him. Izanagi sealed the entrance to Yomi with a boulder, and Izanami cried, "Why did you do such a thing to me?! You betrayed me!! Remove this boulder this instant or I'll kill 1000 of your subjects everyday!" Izanagi countered, "For every 1000 you kill, 1500 shall be born in their place!" and thus their marriage was over. She became the Yomotsugami, the Goddess of the Land of the Dead. Izanami (誘波 Izanami?) is a character referenced by Tsukuyomi Komoe as one of the runaways she had allowed to stay in her home, as is her habit. Not much is known about Izanami, other than the fact that she left Komoe's home an entire month before August 22 of the current year of the Story Timeline to go train as a baker. Izanami (「伊弉冉尊」?; Izanami-no-mikoto; female who invites) was the second of the two kami created to give life to other worlds, and the first female kami to ever exist. Her husband and brother was Izanagi, who was also the first male kami. Izanami, alongside her husband, helped to create the original eight islands of Japan and descended to earth with him. While on the mortal plain, the two were tasked with the creation of a larger population of kami for the world. Izanami took on the role of a mother and gave birth to many of the world's kami through numerous means. However, she was typically pregnant with one or more children and gave birth to others during the process. Happy with her life on Nakatsukuni, the mortal realm, Izanami took on yet another child, who she would carry to term. However, unlike her other births, this son would provide a great deal of difficultly, for he was the god of fire. His flames greatly wounded the heavenly mother, leaving her near the edge of death. She named her child Kagutsuchi. The roaring fires of this babe were impossible to tame, yet in one of Izanami's last actions, she shed a single tear that would become the soothing goddess of water, Mizuhame. Mizuhame would become the only capable of taming her wilder, more fiery brother. However, this never came to be, as Izanagi, in a fit of rage, chopped off his newborn son's head with his sword, creating several more kami from the blood that dripped off of the silver blade. Izanami, having seen her beloved child murdered before her eyes and his twin left alone in the world, she ceased to live and began her journey into the underworld known as Yomi. While in Yomi, her figure started to lose its beauty and fade into something more hideous. The darkness of the realm allowed her to conceal her embarrassment and growing hideousness. Prepared to rot away in this world, Izanami was even more surprised by the discovery that her husband had followed her to this realm, in an attempt to ask her to join the world of the living. She knew in her heart that this man would no longer love her, for he had killed her beloved child and adored her beauty in life. She knew he could not be with her in death, nor could he still love her. Trying to persuade him to leave, she promised that she would return in her own time, but never specified an exact date; she simply promised that should would do so. However, Izanagi desperately wanted to gaze upon her once beautiful face once more, sending shivers of dread and icy feelings of fear through her body. Growing more and more angry, she told him to never gaze upon her in this world and turned him away once more. However, as Izanagi turned and started back towards the gate to the realm of the living, a desire to look upon his wife's face overcame him, and he lit a comb. In the yellow glow of the flame, he revealed Izanami's greatest shame. Furious with him, she launched her decaying form towards her husband, screaming that she would claim the lives of 1000 of his people, and to spite her, he said that he would only give life to 1500 more. Still chasing the man who once loved her, she drove him back through the gates of the underworld but could not follow him further, for he blocked the entrance with a boulder. Goddess of the underworld played by Sophia Hoffer-Perkins in The Five Moons of Japan. You are the goddess of the underworld and the wife of Izanagi. A short while after the world was created, you and Izanagi came into being and were married. Fortunately for Nippon, he was faster than you. When he reached the mouth of the cave that linked earth with the underworld, he sealed it off with a huge boulder. You have remained here this whole time, watching over the wicked dead and contemplating how to exact revenge on your husband. Earlier today, while wandering about the underworld, you discovered what appeared to be a rift in space: a place where Heaven, earth, and the underworld existed all at the same time. Through the shadows, you could make two other figures. One was unmistakably Izanagi, but you didn’t recognize the other. It was a woman…no, she was another goddess. Or, at least, it looks like she had once been. Her radiance seemed to be faded, like weathered cloth. Still, you can’t help but wonder to yourself: “What is she doing with my husband?” You can see Izanagi and this…other woman…meeting with the dead who come to them and attending to their souls. Perhaps you can finally best Izanagi by taking these fresh souls (the ones in the underworld are growing stale and stagnant) and corrupting them yourself, forming an army with which you shall crush your husband and triumphantly return to earth. But perhaps you should wait until this other goddess leaves him first… It is a genjutsu which affects the target through physical sensations shared between them and the user. To begin the technique, after selecting any arbitrary moment, the caster uses their Sharingan to remember the physical sensations both of their body and that of their opponent's during that instant like a photograph (represented as: A). The user must then intentionally replicate the same sensation and in the same way, memorise that instant with their Sharingan (represented as: A'). Izanami overlaps and connects these two identical bodily sensations (A and A'), as well as the flow of time between them, creating an infinite loop of events that entraps the opponent's consciousness. Whilst under the effects of the technique, the target stands motionlessly as the loop of events continually replays inside their mind. Each time a loop is repeated, any physical damage incurred is reset as it were before the start of the loop, although the remains of severed appendages do not disappear. The illusion of the user and anyone they were fighting alongside also have any damage reset as well such as the blindness that comes with Izanami. Despite being able to become consciously aware of their situation and act differently, the victim is unable to significantly alter or escape from the inevitable progression of these events. However, because this technique was created to reprimand and save the users of Izanagi, the victim is able to escape the infinite loop if they can acknowledge the real results of their actions and in doing so, accept their fate. In the anime, it's shown that there is no other way to undo this technique even by someone who has complete control over their chakra. The illusion of the caster also seems to be sentient as the illusionary Itachi was shown to be shaking his head when Kabuto futilely tried to undo the technique. The Izanami is one of the Uchiha clan's ultimate dōjutsu.
