John Madden John Madden
rdfs:comment
John Madden is a former American football coach of the Oakland Raiders who became a sports broadcaster and inventor. Among his inventions are the turducken, rambling color commentary, the Telestrator (aka the electronic chalkboard, which allowed him to illustrate with Xs, Os, and arrows the movement of players on the field in the last play of the game in freeze-frame motion while the next play was halfway in progress), and the football video game. Madden notoriously has a fear of flying which has subsided over the years thanks to President George W. Bush's efforts to keep America's skies safe. John Madden directed the radio adaptations of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. He is best known for directing such films as Mrs. Brown, Shakespeare in Love (for which he was nominated for an Academy Award), and most recently Killshot in 2009. He has also directed for the stage and for British television. En 2006 entró a formar parte del Salón de la Fama del Fútbol Americano Profesional como reconocimiento a su carrera como entrenador. Madden broadcast with Pat Summerall in the 1980s and 1990s, on CBS and later FOX. He was also the last color commentator for ABC's Monday Night Football before it moved to ESPN in 2006.
