Actor and comedian Duggie Brown was born as "Barry Dudley" on 7th August 1940 in Rotherham - the real-life brother of the late Lynne Perrie, better known as Ivy Tilsley/Brennan. For a long time Duggie toured the clubs with the Four Imps pop group, before eventually turning professional as a comedian, regularly appearing on TV in The Comedians and The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club. He later turned to acting with one of his early roles being in the film Kes alongside his sister, Lynne.

He appeared on Coronation Street in February 1997 as George Freeman and in September 2004 as Bernie Cooper. Other credits include roles in For the Love of Ada, My Brother's Keeper, Crown Court, The Enigma Files, All Creatures Great and Small, The Bill, Minder, Brookside, Common As Muck, Last of the Summer Wine, Peak Practice, Holby City, EastEnders, Fat Friends, Heartbeat, Doctors and Hotel Babylon.
