Guilty Gear is a a series of combat simulators designed to appeal to anime fans and metalheads as well as combat the popular Street Fighter franchise. The first game released on the Playstation in 1998, but people were too busy spamming hadouken to notice it. Due to the lack of attention it received it only became a cult-hit, much like Kool Aid. This is a placeholder page for Guilty Gear on the Playstation 1, developed by Arc System Works and published by Atlus U.S.A. in 1998. Guilty Gear is a series of fighting games by Arc System Works and designed by artist Daisuke Ishiwatari. It's known for its detailed anime-style graphics, original characters, hard rock/heavy metal soundtrack, unique fighting mechanic such as OHKO attacks, and its numerous references to rock and heavy metal music. Guilty Gear (ギルティギア, Giruti Gia), subtitled The Missing Link, is the first game of the Guilty Gear series developed by Arc System Works. It was first released on the PlayStation in 1998. Despite being the first release of the Guilty Gear franchise, the game itself reveals little of its past storyline; it is not until later releases of the video games, drama CDs, and novels of the franchise that its history is thoroughly explained. Guilty Gear is a 2D fighting game series involving lots of unique and strange characters that mostly reference classic rock or heavy metal. Almost every character in the series up to XX has been ported to M.U.G.E.N, but some of the characters seem to have broken move sets and uneven damage ratios, especially since the original games are more faster-paced and use an advanced game engine. Game Releases (simplified sequence): 1. * Guilty Gear: The Missing Link (GG1) - 1998 2. * Guilty Gear X: By Your Side (GGX) - 2000 3. * Guilty Gear XX: The Midnight Carnival (GGXX) - 2002 4. * Guilty Gear XX ♯Reload: The Midnight Carnival (GGXX#R) - 2003 5. * Guilty Gear XX Slash: The Midnight Carnival (GGXXS) - 2005 6. * Guilty Gear XX ∧ Core: The Midnight Carnival (GGXXAC) - 2006 This is a unique sprite based fighting game that is considered to be one of the best (if not THE best) fighting games of all time. On NR, the game is rarely mentioned by anyone, except Kiske. Kiske's name is derived from one of the main characters of the game.

The story takes place in the 21st century, where three scientists pioneered the Gear project which is meant to advance human evolution, however the “Gears” are used as weapons instead. Justice, the first complete Gear commanded her brethren to wipe humankind, starting with Japan. The world is thrust into a war that lasted a century. The Holy Knights were formed and was led by Kliff to battle the Gears. Sol Badguy joins the Order but deserts it, stealing it’s precious Fireseal sword. Ky Kiske, a 16 year old boy was made commander of the knights and led a mission to seal away Justice. Guilty Gear è una saga di videogiochi della Arc System, creata per soddisfare intimamente sia i maschietti che le femminucce.
