It was the second in a long line of Disney songs to win this award, after "When You Wish upon a Star" from Pinocchio. "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" is a Disney song from the 1946 film Song of the South. It was sung by Uncle Remus as a segue to the first animated Brer Rabbit segment. Despite the film's banning by Disney due to its racial insensitivity, the song is the only element from it that has still been actively marketed, and it remains a well-known one, appearing in various media, most notably at Splash Mountain and, prior to that, as the finale for the Mickey Mouse Revue. The sprightly anthem was performed by The Bun-Bun Brothers in The Muppet Show episode 420, a cute act interrupted by Alan Arkin (under the influence of Bunsen's Jekyll-and-Hyde potion). The song was sung as a duet between Rowlf and Jimmy Dean on the December 10, 1964 broadcast of The Jimmy Dean Show, when Rowlf was cured from his delusion that he was a cat. "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" is a Disney song from the 1946 film Song of the South. It was sung by Uncle Remus as a segue to the first animated Brer Rabbit segment.
