Kinyen is a lush world with mountains and valleys. The buildings are painted with bright, lush colours that are reminiscent of the flowers that bloom all over the planet. Even colony worlds are decorated with bright colours, especially if the world is drab. The Gran are social beings and while they are not voilent, they are not pushovers and will defend members of their species and close friends from injury — physical or otherwise. These aliens are very social and their three eyes give them vision into the infared range. They have a knack of judging the moods of warm blooded humanoids by the shifts in their heat patterns. Gran view all members of their species as family and Gran are seldom seen alone. Exile is a severe punishment for Gran and if they are left alone in the galaxy without other Gran companionship they can go mad and lose their pacifistic nature. Other close companionship may reduce this insanity, but the Gran will always long for his or her homeworld and people. Gran from colonies are generally better adjusted to being alone than those from Kinyen. Grans tend to dress in bright colours unless they are homesick, as the bright colours remind them of their kin and can lead them to great distress.
