Care of Magical Creatures
rdfs:comment
Care of Magical Creatures is a subject available to the students Hogwarts from the year there and above and compulsory until the OWL study of fifth year. Students study the life cycles of various magical creatures, some of which can be rather dangerous. They also learn to care for, feed, and manage the creatures, and also learn lore about them and how to use them (or parts of them) for magical purposes. It is studied outside the castle unless weather calls for them to be inside. With a variety of animals, and the occasional venture into the Forbidden Forrest the students are well catered for. The current Professor in charge of Care of Magical Creatures is Corey Hopewell. Previous Professors have been Mason Howell. The current teacher of Care of Magical Creatures is Professor Rubeus Hagrid. Before Hagrid it was Professor Silvanus Kettleburn, who taught this subject. * Book used for Care of Magical Creatures lessons: Monster Book of Monsters. Care of Magical Creatures is an elective course at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that can be chosen by students in their third year. In the class, students learn about a wide range of magical creatures, from flobberworms to fire crabs, and even unicorns and thestrals. Students are taught about feeding, maintaining, breeding, and proper treatment of these various creatures.

In the class, students learn about a wide range of magical creatures, from flobberworms to fire crabs, and even unicorns and thestrals. Students are taught about feeding, maintaining, breeding, and proper treatment of these various creatures. The witches and wizards who succeeded in achieving an O.W.L. in the subject later could become Magizoologists. Some known magizoologists were; Newt Scamander, his grandson Rolf Scamander, and his wife Luna Scamander (née Lovegood). The current teacher of Care of Magical Creatures is Professor Rubeus Hagrid. Before Hagrid it was Professor Silvanus Kettleburn, who taught this subject. * Book used for Care of Magical Creatures lessons: Monster Book of Monsters.
