This is a disambiguation page for all the police related things in the Just Cause game series. In the early days of Mobius, there was no need nor want for any police force as citizens were always at war. Around 600 or so years ago, they began to live together peacefully and knew no squabbles. The appearance of Doctor Robotnik and his subsequent takeover of the planet lead to him instating his Trooper forces as police of sorts, ensuring that the residents of Mobius didn't break his laws and were sure not to fall out of line. This policing method appeared brutal, yet efficient at the same time. There weren't many documented cases of small crimes; perhaps this was down to fear of the consequences laid down by the Badnik armies, or that the citizens pulled together against a much stronger enemy which vanquished any desire to harm each other. Whichever reason, the Troopers and all other Police is a recurring groups that appears in the Megami Tensei series. At first the police forces are an ally to the protagonist due to Keigo Kurusu originally wanting to just minimise the damage of the game. They were of some help during the Minene boming incident. Keigo helps during the cult massacre and covers things up after the Reisuke Houjou battle. But after the fight with the Karyuudo dogs, Kurusu kills Karyuudo. This is the turning point where he starts to become antagonistic. Then keigo has Yukiteru and Yuno arrested for the murder that he committed. He plays Russian Roulette with Yuki causing Yuno to come to his rescue injuring him in the process. This Gives him an excuse to send his men after them but Nishijima is not fond of this and helps them escape though Yuki has to non-fataly shoot a detective. In developed nations the sight of the police inspires a different response, dependent upon prejudice and past experience. This response can range from inviting the police into your home for a chat about the weather and your invariably right-wing views, to subtly signalling your distaste for the establishment by shouting abuse as the police drive past. In less developed countries the near universal response to the police approaching is usually to hide under your bed and pray that you will not be dragged into the street and beaten like a rug. The Police are bossy people who tell everyone what they can and can't do. They ride around in their special cars, and have special powers that let them do whatever they want. The police were formed when bad guys were being organized meanies. The police ran in, and beat them up. But then the police did whatever they want. So now they are bad. That's why people like Dr. Robotnik are here, to stop police! Police are nice though, so be nice to them! Police - wioska pod Szczecinem. Znajduje się tam jeden z zakładów produkcyjnych Shimazianki. Police stations are equipped with a small number of jail cells, but city jails are the best place for most criminals go. Prisons are considered undesirable and will lower the land value of the immediate surrounding area. The police is the law enforcement mentioned in several Bible Black productions, but is featured primarily in Bible Black: New Testament. Prominent police officers include the young investigator Naoto Yamanishi and his partner. Toru Yuge was also once a member of the police investigation team, but left to join or establish the Tokken agency. He later recruits police officer Kurumi Imari into his organization. All four officers can be identified by their dark blue uniforms, and the fact that they appear as red dots on the radar. The Police Uniform consists of a dark blue jacket and trousers, with white shirts and black tie. Three of them wear dark blue police hats. All of them have police badges on their jackets. All four officers wear police belts, which have gun holsters on them. They carry pistols and ammunition, which they don't use. The police is usually an organized body of people whose task is to enforce the established laws and punish those who violate them. Ironically, in some countries (for example, Zimbabwe or the United States) the police officers seem to do an exact opposite of that -- violating the law and harassing people who did nothing specifically illegal. The job of a police officer by itself attracts people wishing to abuse the power and gives them many way to do so with relatively little punishment -- for example, attacking the peaceful protesters, murdering others for no reason, or even taking money from mobsters. . Jesus Huerta dies of a gun shot wound to the head while his hands were in handcuffs and behind his back. Kategorie:Grand-Theft-Auto-2-Passanten Kategorie:Polizeibeamte A police officer is a warranted employee of a police force. Police officers are generally charged with the apprehension of criminals and the prevention and detection of crime, and the maintenance of public order. Police officers may be sworn to an oath, and have the power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers. Some police officers may also be trained in special duties, such as counter-terrorism, surveillance, child protection, VIP protection, and investigation techniques into major crime, including fraud, rape, murder and drug trafficking. hélvetica folio The police officer is an NPC in The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. They typically arrest burglars, among other tasks. The police will come automatically when a burglar alarm goes off, or when a Sim calls them over the phone. They will also come autonomously in certain cases. The best way to protect the house from burglars is to install burglar alarms, which will automatically summon the police when they go off. If Sims have to call them manually, they probably won't arrive in time. In almost any Roleplaying server, an in-character organization exists, usually from inception, to Police a given set of laws: the exact nature of the organization depends highly on the server, but can, in the history of TSRP, be broken down into three sections: Police States, which are usually seen on Nationalistic-setting servers or futurist dystopian settings such as classic 1984 Roleplay or Havoc9's XenonCity, Police Departments, which are the generic, mostly current-time period Police Departments and the most common among 'Strict' roleplaying settings, and the pseudo- or proto- Police, manifesting themselves on most half-baked TSRP servers in imitation of their stricter predecessors. A police force is a constituted body of persons empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property, and limit civil disorder. Their powers include the legitimized use of force. The only way to avoid being pulled over by the police is to follow the fucking law, stop talking on your cellphone, stop texting on your cell phone, stop smoking pot while driving, stop eating and drinking while driving, go the speed limit, keep your eyes on the road, obey all traffic signals, and basically have your pants up. Pete Shanahan works as a Police officer. (SG1: "Chimera") Other advanced planets also have similar organizations. Three months before the birth of Harry Potter, two policemen named PC Anderson and Sergeant Fisher chased two young boys on a motorbike. They caught the boys in a dead-end alley and asked for their names. The two boys first gave three random names: Wilberforce, Bathsheba and Elvendork. But soon after, they identified themselves as James Potter and Sirius Black. The two policemen saw three men flying on broomsticks, and were shocked to see the young boys using some sticks to lift up their police car to fend off the men. Peel saw the band perform at the Pink Pop Festival in the Netherlands in June 1979. He was suitably impressed with their performance to book them to record a session for the show, which they did in July 1979. However in later years Peel seemed to have regrets at inviting the band for a session, as he thought the group's music was too safe and not challenging enough. On Peeling Back The Years 4 (Transcript) in 1987 when talking to John Walters, he mentioned: Walters recalled the circumstances somewhat differently: The Police are enemies from the video game, Freedom Force. Police are agents or agencies, usually of the executive, empowered to enforce the law and to effect public and social order through the legitimatized use of force. The term is most commonly associated with police departments of a state that are authorized to exercise the police power of that state within a defined legal or territorial area of responsibility. The word comes via French from the Latin politia (“civil administration”), which itself derives from the Ancient Greek πόλις, for polis ("city"). In England and Wales, each police force or service is overseen by a police authority. La police désigne une agence ou institution chargée du maintien de l'ordre public et du respect des lois dans leur juridiction. A Police force is a constituted body of persons empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property, and limit civil disorder. Their powers include the legitimized use of force. The term is most commonly associated with police services of a sovereign state that are authorized to exercise the police power of that state within a defined legal or territorial area of responsibility. Police forces are often defined as being separate from military or other organizations involved in the defense of the state against foreign aggressors; however, gendarmerie are military units charged with civil policing. The police force is usually a public sector service, meaning they are paid through taxes. Police forces kept extensive records on various individuals that were suspected to be or were criminals. (DS9: "Heart of Stone", et al.) It was common in some localities to use the term constable to refer to individual police officers, and deputy to designate lower-ranking police personnel. (DS9: "Emissary", et al.) On Starfleet vessels, starbases and other installations, the security division was normally in charge of police activities as part of their duties. One exception was the use of Bajoran officers on Deep Space 9, under the command of Constable Odo. (DS9: "Emissary", et al.) Police forces were government organisations charged with maintaining law and order. Female police officers on Earth did not exist until after the 1920s. (TV: The Unicorn and the Wasp) The Fourth Doctor compared the Krynoid pods to policemen because both travelled in pairs. (TV: The Seeds of Doom) They have been a primary feature in the Need for Speed series since the release of The Need for Speed. Their first major role was in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit as it was the first Need for Speed title to feature playable police vehicles in the title's PC release whilst the PlayStation 1 release of Need for Speed: High Stakes was the first console based instalment to feature a cop mode. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) allows the player to start a police career which wasn't a part of a Need for Speed title since Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. The Police were the British civil force, responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order. The term is most commonly associated with police services of a sovereign state that are authorized to exercise the police power of that state within a defined legal or territorial area of responsibility. Law enforcement, however, constitutes only part of policing activity. Policing has included an array of activities in different situations, but the predominant ones are concerned with the preservation of order. They constantly fight criminals such as Shadaloo.

In 1988 6642 Police Helicopter was the first police set that included a modern helmet with visor. 1993 brought some major changes. The minifigs got the first new police torso pieces since 1978. They featured a new police logo with a five-pointed star instead of the simple white badge. It was also the first time that LEGO policemen got new head pieces that differed from the original smiley faces. All Police sets were now released as part of the Rescue subtheme until 1998. New buildings were released in 1993 and 1996. In 1998 the Town theme was replaced with the "juniorized" Town Jr. and the police sets of the following few years used heavily simplified building techniques. The sets also featured transparent green window pieces instead of clear or blueish ones. New police sets were introduced in 2003 as part of the new World City theme. The police logo now featured an eight-pointed star inside a police badge. New uniforms were introduced as well. Another change involved the lightbars of the police cars. They had now red and blue beacons instead of just blue ones. The windows were now smoke coloured. Police appeared in Spider-Man theme in 2003 and 2004 as well. Police vehicles with American style were included in two sets. Beginning with 2005 the police sets were released as part of the City theme. The police units went back to flashing lights that were blue only. Also the first police dogs were introduced. Instead of preprinted pieces that are labeled "POLICE" the new sets include sticker sheets that allow to label the police units with either the English word "POLICE" or the German "POLIZEI". In 2012, City relocated to a forest-like area and the police started wearing tan-colored uniforms with dark blue pants, some come with a new ranger hat, making them the Forest Police similar to Forest Rangers. 2013 saw the release of new Police sets, with action set around regular city, with the distinction of the box art background depicting night time. In 2014 a whole new range of sets were introduced, some a redesign of the older classical sets, like Mobile Police Unit, Police Dog Unit or Police Station. In 2015 a new subtheme was created, Swamp Police, with action taking place in the swamp area outside the city. Police minifigures had tan/blue uniforms influenced by Forest Police, albeit slightly lighter in tone and with baseball caps rathen than ranger hats. The Police have also appeared in LEGO Batman: The Videogame, but they only appeared in Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase and an actual minifigure of Commissioner Gordon. thumb|Zachód słońca nad Policami Police – miejscowość turystyczna położona w północno-zachodniej Polsce, oddzielona pasmem leśnym od Szczecina. Słynie zwłaszcza z specyficznego mikroklimatu o właściwościach leczniczych. Znajdują się tu nie tylko znane uzdrowiska jak np. Police appear often in the Swallows and Amazons series: * Sammy Lewthwaite and the Police sergeant at the Lake * Mr Tedder at Horning Captain Flint was in court once, for a fancy for policeman's helmets .... on boat-race night, in a year when Oxford won (ML16). Timothy asks Nancy How do the police come into it? Once they're in, you never know where they'll stop. She asks him What do you know about it? Have you ever been wanted by them before? and he replies Only in Peru .... Did your Uncle Jim never tell you about the time when he and I ... Oh, never mind about that. Go on . What sort of a mess are we all in now? (PM21). Arthur Ransome often portrays the Police as mildly ridiculous, perhaps like his character Hurst he is favouring The Unofficial Side. The police is a minor group of the World Government. They consist of normal officers and the Special Forces, who are very skilled battlers and are connected to the Top Brass somehow. The police can be turned on or off in Take A Ride Mode. Turning them on and activating the cheat 'Immunity' will make the police not see you, no matter what you do. This is the only way to get a police car without getting a Felony level. The police can be seen patrolling through the streets of the city. They do this with their police cars, which are different for each city. The cops appear on your map as white spheres. They are small when they are patrolling but become wider when they are looking for the player. A white sphere indicates a police car, a gray/transparant sphere indicates a officer on foot. Police units are being send when a crime is commited or an accident occurs. This includes: A collision between two vehicles or a vehicle smashing itself into a wall, weapon discharge in the public, explosions, civilians being attacked with weapons or being ran over, holding a weapon in public areas, car robberies, attack on an officer, attack on a police vehicle... When one of these events occur, the police radio can be heard calling officers to respond. The nearest police car on the map will immediantly turn on its sirens and head towards the scene. If there isn't any sphere on the map, it may take some time before a police unit approaches the district the player is in. When the police arrives they will get out of their vehicle and scope out the area with the driver staying with the police car and the other one checking out the scene. If the player commits a crime with officers near, they will pull out their pistols and arrest the player. Drawing a firearm will make the officers open fire upon Tanner. The police also have police stations. One can be found in Miami and is featured in the mission 'Police HQ' and 'Lead on Baccus'. 2 can be found in Istanbul and one is featured in the mission 'Tanner Escapes', the other is across the parking lot from the Mosque near the underground Timmy Vermicelli location. There are no police vehicles present at the parkings of the police stations and there is no police personell present except for one officer at the Miami police station, who is working on the computer behind the main desk. The Miami police station is enterable, unlike the two in Istanbul. It contains a main hall, shooting range, garage, locker room and two prison cells. The shooting range is used in the mission 'Police HQ'. Each city has one type of police cruiser and one type of boat. However, only the police cruisers are being used. The Miami and Nice police boat never makes an appearance. However they still can be found in the game files. The Istanbul police boat makes an appearance in the mission 'Tanner Escapes', where a few are being send after Tanner grabs a boat himself. The police use a few type of weapons. The main one used is the Beretta 92 9mm pistol. It has a chambre of 10 bullets and has a dark gray collor. The police use it untill the Felony level reaches halfway the bar. When the Felony level is higher than 50% the police officers in police vehicles won't be using it anymore. Police officers on foot will still use this pistol no matter how much the Felony bar is filled. The police use this weapon in 'Take A Ride' mode and in the missions 'The Siege', 'Tanner Escapes', 'Chase The Train' and also during the Driving Games 'Survival' and 'Checkpoint Race' When the Felony bar has reached halfway the police will deploy the Frenchi SPAS-12. It can hold up to 8 bullets and is half automatic; Now no more police officers in vehicles will use the pistol anymore, only the ones on foot. Police officers in Roadblocks also use this weapon. The weapon is featured in 'Take A Ride' mode and in the missions 'Trapped', 'Tanner Escapes', 'Chase The Train' and during the Driving Games 'Survival' and 'Checkpoint Race' The SIG Sauer P228 silver is another pistol. It can hold 17 round per mag and is recognized by its silver color. This weapon has unlimited ammo when used by the player. This weapon is also used by the police. The police officer in the Miami police station will fire upon the player when he has a Felony level. The cops also use it during the missions 'Trapped' and 'Tanner Escapes'. The Heckler & Kock MP5 is a sub machine gun. It has 30 round per chambre and can rapidly fire. The police use it during the missions 'Trapped' and 'Tanner Escapes'. The Uzi is another SMG featured in Driv3r. It has 32 rounds per mag and can rapidly fire, though its firing rate is slower than from the H&K MP5. The police use this weapon only in the mission 'Chase the train'. The M-16 is an Assault Rifle present in Driv3r. It has 60 round per chambre and is fully automatic. It is used by the police during the mission '18-Wheeler'. The intensivity of the police searching for the player can be seen at the top left of the screen. The middle bar of the three if the Felony bar, recognized by the star in front of it. As it fills up more police units will be send with better tactics. The first part of the bar has a line. When the Felony level hasn't got passed the line the police will arrest the player. When the Felony level goes beyond the line it will go from just simple red to red and blue flashing. This indicates the police will shoot on sight. When the police is chasing the player, the mini map will be flashing red and blue. When the police loses visual this can be heard on the radio and the map will flash white and return to normal. The behaviour of the police depends per city. In Miami, the police will start ramming the player and do PIT manouvres when the Felony bar has filled up to three quarters. In Nice, the police only chase the player without ramming him and in Istanbul the cops start ramming the player vehicle from the moment he tries to flee away. When the bar reaches 50% the police will start using the sotgun. Officers on foot with the Baretta pistols will also start showing up and start shooting at the player as he drives past them. When the bar completely fills more police units will join and roadblocks will be set up consisting out of 2 up to 4 police vehicles. The police officers in roadblocks will also use the Frenchi SPAS-12. Now from the moment a police car appears on the map it will directly head towards the player, with lights and sirens, to agressively ram the player of the road (except for Nice' and eventually the occupants will try to kill the player with their SPAS-12s, unlike lower Felony levels where sometimes a second police car is in the area but doesn't respond to the call. More police officers on foot will also show up. To lose a Felony level, the player must enter one of the safe houses. This includes places like tanner's home and malls. Even when cops are turned off, the police officer at the Miami police station still will be there and shooting him will result in a full Felony level? When police officers have exited their vehicle and a crook (civilian with a gun, can be recognised by Tanners crosshair turning red) in a car drives by, the police will start shooting at him, even if this man didn't do anything. When a police car chases you but gets out of visual range, it will be completely repaired when it comes back in sight. When a police car flips on its roof or side and you drive off, it will be repaired and back on its tires when you return. When two officers in a police car have been programmed to remain in their car no matter what happens (happens sometimes in Take A Ride) they are invincible. No matter how much you shoot through the window, they won't die and blowing up their car won't help since they will still be alive. Even if their car is blown up and you leave, it will be repaired when out of sight and will start to chase you again. When all passengers from chasing police cars have stepped out and you stand still, nothing will happen. The police cars will just stand there unless you drive off again or step out. When in the mission 'Police HQ', you shoot at one of the police officers in the police station, they will say 'Fire At Will' and start shooting at you resulting in an instant arrest. When in the mission 'The Siege', you shoot an officer he will say 'Watch Your Shot', when you shoot another officer he will say 'This is your last warning' and shooting a third officer or killing one will result in them saying 'Fire At Will' and you will get arrested. When you are being chased by the cops and there are 4 or more officers in the police vehicles chasing you there won't spawn any police officers on foot with pistols unless the police cars are out of sight. So if you have 3 police cars chasing with in each police car 1 officer, every few metres a police officer with a pistol will spawn. If you have 2 police cars with 2 officers per vehicle, no officers on foot will spawn. Police roadblocks only spawn when you have 1 or 2 police cars chasing you at max felony. That in Take A Ride mode, there will never be more than 5 police cars within visual range? So when you have 2 police cars chasing you and the police set up a roadblock it will maximum consist out of 3 police cars. That you can get arrested while you are in a vehicle when the police is drawing their guns at you. That police cars sometimes can be seen on your map, driving straight towards you over water and buildings, and when it comes withing visual range it will be a few metres above the ground and fall down. When an officer is in the water and you shoot him, he will die a few metres above the water. That there will be maximum 2 officers on foot with pistols within visual range? That drivers of police vehicles will never get out of their car when you are in a car, unless their car falls in the water or is destroyed? That there will never spawn a third police car when there are already two chasing you? To get a third police car to chase you, you must make sure one of the already chasing ones gets destroyed or the driver steps out. Than you may not go to far away untill a third one spawns. Than go back to the destroyed one which will now be repaired and you will have 3 cops chasing you. When there are 3 police cars chasing you a 4th one can appear, unless 2 of the 3 chasing cop cars still have 2 officers in them. To get a 5th police car chasing you, you must make sure one of the 4 chasing you gets destroyed and must be out of visual range. Than go back to the destroyed one, which will now be repaired, and you will have 5 coppers chasing you. When a police vehicle falls in the water and is out of visual range, it will spawn back on the street when you commit a crime. When a police car is destroyed but the officer doesn't exit his car, the police car will just get repaired and start chasing you again from the moment it is out of visual range. When a police car is destroyed and the officer exits his car, the car will get repaired after the player can't see it anymore and the officer will just sit in his police car, not chasing the player, unless the player comes pretty close to the officer. That police also attack Timmy's on sight? That during the '18-wheeler havoc' minigame, the Timmy's in the trucks, replace the police? That during 'Tanner Escapes' the police in the boats will not get out, instead they will just stand there, even when they have been killed. The Police were the British civil force, responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order. Law enforcement, however, constitutes only part of policing activity. Policing has included an array of activities in different situations, but the predominant ones are concerned with the preservation of order. They constantly fight criminals such as Shadaloo. Police - wioska pod Szczecinem. Znajduje się tam jeden z zakładów produkcyjnych Shimazianki. (DS9: "Emissary", et al.) The police were mentioned in an article in the Q Continuum magazine The New. (VOY: "Death Wish") In almost any Roleplaying server, an in-character organization exists, usually from inception, to Police a given set of laws: the exact nature of the organization depends highly on the server, but can, in the history of TSRP, be broken down into three sections: Police States, which are usually seen on Nationalistic-setting servers or futurist dystopian settings such as classic 1984 Roleplay or Havoc9's XenonCity, Police Departments, which are the generic, mostly current-time period Police Departments and the most common among 'Strict' roleplaying settings, and the pseudo- or proto- Police, manifesting themselves on most half-baked TSRP servers in imitation of their stricter predecessors. The Empire City Police Department, or just ECPD (called the Empire Police Department (EPD) on the police stations), is the police force of Empire City in inFamous. The remaining members of the police department are relatively unorganized and scattered around the city in small groups, generally found near the remaining police stations. Depending on his Karma, the police may help or hinder Cole as he searches the city for the Ray Sphere. The first police force comparable to present-day police was established in 1667 under King Louis XIV in France, although modern police usually trace their origins to the 1800 establishment of the Marine Police in London, the Glasgow Police, and the Napoleonic police of Paris. The first modern police force is also commonly said to be the London Metropolitan Police Service, established in 1829, which promoted the preventive role of police as a deterrent to urban crime and disorder. Law enforcement however has only ever constituted a small portion of policing activity. Policing has included an array of activities in different contexts, but the predominant ones are concerned with order maintenance and the provision of services. Alternative names for police force include constabulary, gendarmerie, police department, police service, crime prevention, protective services or law enforcement agency, and members can be police officers, troopers, sheriffs, constables, rangers, or peace officers. Russian police and police of the Soviet-era Eastern Europe are (or were) called militsiya. In England and Wales, each police force or service is overseen by a police authority. A police officer is a warranted employee of a police force. The Police are enemies from the video game, Freedom Force. Whichever reason, the Troopers and all other Badniks were eventually foiled due to the electromagnetic pulse of Issue 100, completely decimating this branch of peace-keeping. Following a quick brush with global elections, the idea of Zone Leaders was (largely off-the-cuff) devised by Sonic in order to avoid the same problem of dictatorship. With one person in charge of each Zone, these important officials needed some sort of 'army' to defend their new provinces. As such, many Zones had police forces, all of which varied depending on the size of the Zone (and, obviously, the artist and writer of individual stories). Although it was down to the police to apprehend criminals in their jurisdiction, it was often down to Sonic (or, more commonly, Tails), to tackle the crooks first and leave the locking up to the actual authorities. Many officers in one-shot stories (particularly in ones illustrated by Mick McMahon) resembled Russian secret police, their stereotypes coming out with their gruff demeanour and long trenchcoats adorned with a large red star. In Sonic the Comic Online, modern policing is often represented by the police force of the Metropolis Zone. Led by bumbling Police Chief Bodger, the service was a much more complete one, far more advanced and together than any police representitives thus far. As a unit, they were often more capable of handling tough enemies, with the Freedom Fighters simply in attendance, or for back-up, many times. This was first seen in the print STC, when tackling the Chaos monster, but, more recently, grappeling with huge Uberniks as Tails looks on, nonplussed. Unfortunately, their efficiency has also led to the inadequacy of Sonic. Other police services shown in STC-O include the Starlight Zone Police Department, which includes highly trained tactical units. Police are various organizations on Earth, empowered to enforce law, investigate crimes, et cetera. Pete Shanahan works as a Police officer. (SG1: "Chimera") Other advanced planets also have similar organizations. In Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Police is one segment of the universal Space Police united to protecting the law. This includes the Space SheriffsImage:Icon-crosswiki.png (such as Space Sheriff Gavan) Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie and the Special Police Dekaranger (who notably has a branch on Earth run by Doggie Kruger). Final Ep.: Farewell Space Pirates The police officer is an NPC in The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. The police officer does not exist in the same capacity in The Sims 4, although owners of the Get to Work expansion pack will be able to get police-related jobs for their Sims (and work at a police station) through a Detective career. On Peeling Back The Years 4 (Transcript) in 1987 when talking to John Walters, he mentioned: "... we only barely had the Police – after I’d seen them playing in a concert in Holland and they’d played particularly well, and they I think would still argue that it was perhaps their best ever gig, so I was rather carried away with that." Walters recalled the circumstances somewhat differently: "The Police were another of my big regrets. They'd been on at Peel for ages, buying him pints of lager and so forth and eventually he succumbed and they did a session, but for me it was retro. It wasn't the sort of sound you wanted to hear on the Peel show. You knew it would probably be very popular and sell millions but it wasn't right for us." (Q Magazine, Art For Art's Sake, p.11.) During the session, the band recorded, as a standalone number, a part of their song "Can't Stand Losing You" that they only performed in concert. That piece of music was subsequently reworked as the title-track of their second album "Reggatta de Blanc". The Police also played at the Reading Festival in August 1979, for which Peel acted as the compere. The police are persons empowered to enforce the law, protect property and reduce civil disorder. Their powers include the legitimized use of force to preserve order. The police appears in some games from the Mega Man Legends series, both as friendly persons or enemies, depending of the player's character. Masumi Nishijima (西島 真澄, Nishijima Masumi) is the chief investigator of the Sakurami Police force and the subordinate of Keigo Kurusu. In the summer of 1943, the Muggle Frank Bryce was taken to a police station for questioning following the deaths of Thomas Riddle, Mary Riddle and Tom Riddle Sr. Though he was released without charge, the experience left him deeply mistrustful of police from that point forward. Despite this mistrust, he resolved to call the police upon hearing Lord Voldemort and Peter Pettigrew plotting the capture and murder of Harry Potter. Before he could, however, his presence was discovered by Nagini and reported to Voldemort. A police officer was amongst the victims of Peter Pettigrew in his attack on 1 November, 1981 that was blamed on a gas explosion. On 1 September, 1992, Mr Angus Fleet of Peebles reported his sighting of the Flying Ford Anglia to the police. On either 31 August or 1 September, 1994, Alastor Moody's Muggle neighbours called policemen to report a disturbance when his dustbins were set off by Bartemius Crouch Jr. This incident was later reported by Rita Skeeter in an article in the Daily Prophet. In 1995, Harry Potter silently wished for someone, such as the police, to come as a Death Eater screamed while being tortured via the Cruciatus Curse by Voldemort. Later that year, during the summer holidays, Aunt Petunia screamed for Vernon to call the police after Dudley Dursley arrived home following being attacked by Dementors and she feared that he may have been mugged. The call was never made, however, as Dudley struggled to speak, indicating Harry Potter, and the Dursleys then interrogated Harry regarding the matter. La police désigne une agence ou institution chargée du maintien de l'ordre public et du respect des lois dans leur juridiction. Police stations are equipped with a small number of jail cells, but city jails are the best place for most criminals go. Prisons are considered undesirable and will lower the land value of the immediate surrounding area. You may also just try to avoid these 'pigs', because they always have the right of way, sex lights on or off. If you are making a legal right turn on red, and you stop a cop from speeding past the light to make the 3 o' clock doughnut special by using the road the correct way, begin unbuckling your pants and plead for a little bit of KY when those sex lights go on. In summary, all cops are gay for criminals. That is the second worst time you might run into a cop. The worst possible way to run into a cop is on foot, because when you're on foot, you're not escaping them. They can smell your fear, and your pot, when they ride their bike up behind you, silent as a breeze. If by chance you do see a cop waving you down, please remember previous advice and have your pants unbuckled and around your ankles by the time they get there. If you just came from the bakery, expect to have your biological terrorist weapons confiscated and tested by the force's best men. The ONLY time you're safe from a cop walking the beat is when you are in close vicinity of a doughnut shop, unless you're trashing that doughnut shop. Due to the nature of police work a whole host of nicknames for the police service have sprung up and are in common usage throughout the world. The police is usually an organized body of people whose task is to enforce the established laws and punish those who violate them. Ironically, in some countries (for example, Zimbabwe or the United States) the police officers seem to do an exact opposite of that -- violating the law and harassing people who did nothing specifically illegal. The job of a police officer by itself attracts people wishing to abuse the power and gives them many way to do so with relatively little punishment -- for example, attacking the peaceful protesters, murdering others for no reason, or even taking money from mobsters. . PZ Myers is also skeptical if Huerta could really have shot himself in that situation. Liberapedia hopes the police will be made accountable for what looks suspiciously like murder by another person.
